Chapter Twenty-three

Max’s POV

It was obvious Damon had no clue that we already knew about Charlie’s status, what we couldn’t figure out was why he was poisoning her for so long and waited until days before her eighteenth to almost kill her.

Alexander was getting frustrated, he could not always read between the lines and would quite often jump to conclusions.

Anyway it was time to focus on this woman, what did she know about Charlie. As we descend the second staircase, I try to ignore the smell, I understood why father left it this way because it did bring our captives to tears, most just wanted to escape the smell and would eventually cave.

The woman was already screaming and shouting about how it was a disgrace that she had been left in these conditions, how she wanted to speak to whoever was in charge and that she would co-operate as long as she could leave her cell.

Again we trade places with the guard who left in a hurry, much like the first one.
