Chapter Seventy
Alexander’s POV
With both Max and Charlie gone, it left just Kayla and me. I was uncomfortable being here with my rejected mate and I am sure she felt the same way. The Moon Goddess really had a lot to answer too.
“I’m sorry Alex” her voice is high pitched and squeaky and one of her blonde locks drops out of the messy bun and falls over her face.
“Don’t call me that Kayla” The only person that I wanted to call me Alex was Charlie
She drops her eyes “It was never supposed to be this way, I was never meant to fall in love” she peers at me through her long eyelashes. I knew exactly what she was doing, all the girls I had been with in the past were exactly the same.
“I’m sorry Kayla but I love Charlie” there was that dark flash in her eyes again
“You are not mated to Charlie, you are mated to me”, she follows me as I leave the room and runs to keep up with my lar

Max’s POVI couldn’t stand how close he was to Charlie and the growl came frome somewhere deep inside me, warning him to get away from my mate. Charlie’s POVAlpha Zach was something else, he had muscles bulging through the shirt he was wearing, he was tall with dark hair shaven at the sides, tattoos trailing over the skin that was visible and down into his shirt. His eyes dark as they focussed on me and as he stared at me I felt an overwhelming urge to be with him and his scent told me that he had the same urge.As he calls me Queen I quickly mutter a good morning and rush inside, dragging Kayla with me“Who and what the hell is that Kayla and why the hell did he call me Queen?” I felt flustered, excitedly embarrassed about how I acted.“Well, that would be Alpha Zach” she doesn’t get a chance to say anything else as the door opens and Max walks inside with Alpha Zach and his men. Alexander’s POVI don’t like these men, it was a mistake for Max to invite them here and I could see the way that Alpha Zach looked at Charlie, especially after he called her their Queen. Charlie’s POVI couldn’t think, I couldn’t eat and I barely slept. Life without Alexander was horrible, he had saved me from a life of hell, always around to cheer me up, put a smile on my face and make me laugh when Max was being all serious and now, now he was gone.I had slept in his bed for three nights in a row, his scent still lingered on his bed but as each day passed, it began to fade and I was worried I was losing him, Gypsy had been giving me the silent treatment as she blamed me for distracting him.Max had tried to convince me to come back to his room but all I wanted was for Alexander to be back. Charlie’s POV The fight continues and yet I still have not seen my father, he would be easy to spot as he looks exactly like me. The Lycans were mostly dark colours when shifted and were easy to spot, a little difficult to figure out who was fighting who but my father was definitely not among them which made me anxious. Alpha Zach links me “Have you seen Damon?” The main idea with me staying higher up and in the centre was because I would be the only one to recognise his Lycan a jet black wolf exactly like myself. “No, not yet” “Keep looking” and he drops the link. Being able to hear the Lycans was odd and I hadn’t told Max yet, as far as he was concerned, he was the only one that could speak to me because we had mated and honestly I wanted to keep it that way for as long as possible. Max’s POVDamon’s pack had retreated, many had lost their lives from both packs and as the survivors helped the worst wounded, I started to look for Charlie. She was nowhere to be seen along with Alpha Zach, some of the guards inform me that she went inside the packhouse.Entering the house, there was a lot of commotion and I follow the sound to the bedroom Kiwi was being locked in. The door was wide open and as I stepped through the doorway I was shocked to see Alpha Zach, Kiwi who was sitting up on the floor and Charlie who was holding Damon’s head, blood splattered across her face whilst his body was crumpling to the floor.As soon as she sees me, she drops his head which rolls across the floor, stopping inches from my feet, his eyes wide open in fear. Thank you so much for reading everyone, I really appreciate it and would be grateful for any reviews or feedback. I have really enjoyed writing this book and loved every moment of it, but the story is far from over and book two will be coming out soon following Charlie’s quest in finding her hybrid mother and discovering what happens with Alpha Zach as well as what it means to be Queen of the Lycans. Does Charlie find her way back to Max or does she choose Alpha Zach? Will Max stand by his vow? Only time will tell.
