CHAPTER SEVEN - MIXED FEELINGS

When the shift ended and the sun was already setting, I changed clothes, grabbed my backpack and went back. Maxwell paid me and I said goodbye to him and Scarlet.

When I left the cafeteria, I breathed that fresh air into my lungs and felt the drops fall on my skin. I looked up at the sky and kept walking. The rain was starting to pick up when I remembered James's proposal. It was an invitation to meet in that same place. I was starting to worry about the frequency of our runs. Soon we would have to change our route because of the tracks.

I started walking towards the outlying shed. My wolf was already restless and at the edge of the surface when I arrived, I caught the familiar scent of that woody scent. He was weak from the smell of camellias and the rain, but James was there. I could still identify it even with the pouring rain.
