CHAPTER NINE - THE DINNER

Ah! I'm dead! Psychologically at least. After knowing that they are indeed looking for me and that they think there is an assassin in their territory, my she-wolf did not relax at all. Indeed, James was right. Maybe Bruce was after me because he cared, but that son of a bitch cares in a way too extreme. What if the Alpha here decided to settle things his way before turning me over to Bruce? I would be lost!

I need Bruce to accept my freedom. No matter what.

I don't know what I will do tomorrow. I don't know if I'll go to work. I didn't say anything to Maxwell, but I can't let the cafeteria down. Maybe James can handle it on his own like I did, but I can't stay away for too long.

After taking a shower and getting ready for bed, I went to the window and opened it, letting a cool wind into the room. The weather was nice and more days of rain were likely to come. I leaned my elbows on the window and stared outside. Smelling the smells of the city coming to me.
