CHAPTER TWELVE - HUNTING A WOLF

" Are you sure Jake? " I asked confused.

" I do. We're closing early today. " I said to myself, to Maxwell, and to Scarlet.

We were all looking at each other confused and not knowing what was going on. Jake had arrived at the cafeteria and told us that it was closing early. I decided not to question it and to go and change. Jake paid us half price for the service and dismissed us as soon as the last customer had left.

I went out a little after lunchtime and the sky was still falling. The torrential rain was washing the streets and creating some small puddles on the sidewalk.

Maybe Sarah and I could go jogging today. We could go somewhere further away from here. A safe place for her.

I packed my coat and as soon as I left the cafeteria, I felt a man walk past me to enter.

" We are closed, sir. " I warned.

" I know. " I felt a shiver run down my spine and saw the man enter without even seeing his face.

I shrugged and walked back to the hotel. I stopped by a convenience store
