CHAPTER SEVENTEEN - RUN!

He looked around, seemed to observe the situation carefully, and when he saw some of his injured wolves, he stared at James immobilized by his more dominant wolves. Then he laid his eyes on me.

Those orbs were so red and wild that they could frighten anyone in my place. I had never seen a wolf with eyes that color before. And that... that was not of this earth.

I felt my breathing become heavy and my body tense up like it had never been before. But I still managed to bar my teeth at him and face him with hostility. James was closer to him than I was. It must have been hell.

I looked at the lone man, who looked back at me worriedly. He was all bruised up, but he was still trying to get loose. He was shaking his head at me, but I didn't know what he meant by that. He growled and let out air through his nostrils and tried once more to bite the wolf beside him, but he couldn't loosen his grip.
