Sunlight filtered in through the window and I turned on the bed. I opened my eyes a bit to see that my phone was buzzing and the screen had lit up. I had put my phone on vibration only last night to avoid any distractions.

"Hello," I said, picking it up. I noticed how hoarse my voice sounded and my throat was sore too.

"Sarah? Are you just waking up?" Ava's voice said through the phone. I furrowed my brows and drew the phone away from my ear to check the time.

"Shit!" I yelled, sitting up immediately. "I am going to be so late. Thanks for waking me up," I told her already getting up.

"Did you check the group chat today?" She asked at the same time Nikolai came into the room.

"I'll tell one of the drivers to take you to work. I'll be the one picking you up today too," He said immediately he entered. I put my hand on my speaker as I answered him,

"Sure. You're going to work now?" I asked, hesitantly. There was a different question on the tip of my tongue.
