CHAPTER 16

Hazel’s POV

I spent the entire day staring through the window and waiting for the night to fall. No one else came to see me and I was thankful for that. I didn’t want a distraction. I wanted peace and silence so I could focus on my escape.

As soon as it started getting dark I stood up and approached the window. I looked down at the small clearing between the packhouse and the edge of the forest. I was afraid that there would be guards walking around, but thankfully, I saw no one.

I had to go. I had to leave while I still had the chance.

I turned around and rushed toward one of the chairs that were placed around the coffee table. I pulled it toward the bedroom door and jammed the back of the chair under the doorknob. I had to at least slow them down.

I rushed back toward the window and looked outside one more time. There were no guards walking around.

It was now or never.

I opened the window and glanced behind my shoulder. No one was coming. No one was at the door. No one was going to

And now to see if she stumbles into Jackson territory and what does Jessica have to say for herself about her lying all this time about Hazel..I do hope Hazel doesn’t do anything stupid but then again this is Hazel she doesn’t know where she’s going especially after leaving that territory smh..

I can understand why she wants to escape....but I just wish she could have waited just a couple of days to see if they can really change for her......
