CHAPTER 15

Aiden’s POV

“How is she?” Elijah asked as soon as Katie walked into our office. “Did she eat?”

Katie closed her door and nodded.

“I left the tray there,” Katie said as she approached Ian. “She will eat.”

Elijah clenched his fists and tightened his jaw.

“So you didn’t actually see her eat?” he asked angrily. “You should have stayed there until she finished…”

“Eli,” I interrupted him. “Katie isn’t her guard.”

Elijah looked at me and rolled his eyes. He started pacing around our office. I looked at Kate and took a deep breath.

“Is she feeling a bit better?” I asked and Katie gave me a small nod.

“She was on her feet when I came into the room,” Katie said. “She looks better than I expected. Ian told me that she wasn’t doing good.”

“They spent the night with her,” Ian said, leaning in and kissing Katie’s cheek. “That must have helped her heal.”

Katie looked at him wide-eyed. “They did?!”

Ian nodded and gave her a small smile. He leaned in and placed a kiss on her lips. I felt jealousy burn
