CHAPTER FOUR

Asher's POV

"Hey, where has my newest couple been?" Liam's mother said, smiling as she moved closer to us.

"We’ve been looking for you,” She said again.

"Asher, are you okay, your eyes are red like you've been crying." She asked curiously as she placed her hand on my arm and looked into my eyes.

“I’m fine mom,” I replied, smiling at her."

" I hope you will make this marriage work?" she asked again.

"Mom, Asher and I are tired, we need to get some rest," Liam finally spoke, trying to avoid further questions from his mother.

“Have you already booked a hotel for us or what?”

“Are you arranging our honeymoon?” he said again quietly.

“Yes, your honeymoon is arranged, you are traveling to another country, your ticket is booked,” she said with a bright smile.

I exchanged glances with Liam.  It surprised me that my parents have never mentioned to me that I will travel out of the country for my honeymoon.

“What country, Mom?” I asked.

“Oh, you’re going to Germany,” she said grinning.

“I’m sure you’ll have a lovely time together,” she exclaimed.

“So when are we leaving America?” Liam asked with a raised eyebrow.

“Tomorrow,” his mother replied.

“Can we please check this out in a hotel to rest,” Liam said in a heavy voice.

“Yeah, but,” his mother began as we both looked at her expectantly.

"There's an after party with you and just the family," she said, a smile bright on her face.

“Oh no, Mom, we’re so tired,” Liam pleaded.

"I know, but it's really important that you have a nice time with both families so you get familiar with your in-laws before you travel to Germany" She said.

"Alright, Let get going", Liam said as he looked into my eyes as if to get a confirmation, I nodded in agreement.

"Before we go for the after-party," she said, "I've brought you both some more comfortable clothes to change into."

She handed me and Liam each a  bag.

"Asher, you can change out of your wedding gown and into this lovely comfortable dress," she said, and I nodded in agreement.

"And, Liam, you can change out of your suit and into this more casual outfit," she continued

"I will be waiting for you outside" She said and left.

We both took the bags and went back into the changing room to change, Liam went into the male's changing room while I entered into the female's changing room.

It  took us about fifteen minutes to change out of our wedding clothes and into something more comfortable.

I felt relieved as I slipped into the simple pretty dress. It was so nice to be out of the heavy gown and into something lighter and more airy. I could tell that Liam felt  more relaxed in his new outfit than the suit with the look on his face.

"You look really pretty in the gown," Liam said with a smile.

I blushed and appreciate him for the compliment, it really met a lot to me

"You look great too," I said with a smile.

"Thank you", he said with a cute smile, moved close to me and held my hand. As we walked towards the car that would convey us to the hotel for the afterparty, I saw my parents, my younger sister and Liam's parents patiently waiting for us. They all looked tired but excited.

A bright smile spread across my dad's face as he saw Liam and I were holding hands, he believed we were getting along with each other.

Liam, my younger sister and I hopped into one car while our parents got into another.

As we drove, I looked out the window because I felt so nervous sitting close to Liam, no one said a word. My eyes  met with that of Liam several times. Each time filled with an unspoken conversation.

As we entered the hotel ballroom, the sheer amount of food left me in awe. After already serving plenty of food at the wedding reception, the sight of an entire buffet spread just for family members  overwhelmed me. Anyone seeing this, need no explanation that this a billionaire party, the food and decor were of the finest quality.

Liam and I were ushered to an area specially set aside for us and the party officially kicked off.

We ate, drank and danced again at the party. I really feel more relaxed at the afterparty than at the wedding reception.

As the after-party was coming to an end, Liam moved  me closer to him, looked into my eyes and said, "I'm so glad we are working this out"

All of a sudden he planted a kiss on my lip and the kiss went deepend and continued. I felt a rush of warmth and excitement as our lips met. Our parents were so happy, they shouted happily and clapped, excited to see us getting along so well. It was a moment I prayed wouldn't end.

As Liam released me from the kiss, He pulled me closer to his chest and gave me a warm embrace, and for a moment, the world around us melted away.

But then, someone caught my attention. I saw Lucy, standing at the entrance door of the hall.

What  does she want this time ? I thought to myself, puzzled. But I kept my thoughts to myself, not wanting to disrupt the moment we were sharing.

I fixed my gaze at her direction and pleaded with my eyes and hands, hoping she would understand that I didn't want her to ruin the moment. I know that she saw my pleading look, but I couldn't tell if she understood my meaning. I held my breath, praying that she would leave without creating  a scene. I could feel my heartbeat as I prayed  she would take her leave.

Luckily for me, She finally left sluggishly and I heaved a quiet sigh of relief. I couldn't help but wonder why she came around again. Was she hurt that she saw us together again after she willingly left Liam for me.

I was glad that no one else saw her there. It was a moment that should be our happiest  moment, and I wanted to keep it that way.

I turned back to Liam and smiled, grateful for the moment we had shared. He smiled back, his eyes filled with love .
