CHAPTER FIVE

Liam's POV

I woke up to the sight of Asher, sleeping peacefully beside me.

We had lodged in the hotel yesterday after the afterparty. We are to stay in the hotel till evening when our flight will take off to Germany.

I stared at Asher's pretty face for a few minutes, I smiled to myself as I thought about the conversation we had yesternight. We talked length and be so honest with each other, and It was clear that we both want to make it work, we agreed that it was important to take things slowly and not to rush things and know each other better first.

I planted a kiss on her forehead and she stirred a bit.  I quietly got up from the bed to avoid disturbing her pretty sleep and tiptoed to the bathroom to have a quick shower and I'd go to order for our breakfast before she woke up.

After my shower, I thread gently out of the bathroom making sure not to wake her. I walked up to the box of clothes my mother had kindly  brought for us to the hotel without our knowledge. I picked up a shirt and smart shorts, tiptoed out of the bedroom and walked down to the reception to place an order for our breakfast and asked it to be delivered to my room.

I was going  back to my room when I bumped into someone that made my heart stop beating for a moment. I could not believe who I'm seeing again. It was Lucy.

She was coming out from the room before mine, wearing nightgowns,  "what is she doing here again" I wondered. "Was she stalking me or she checked into the hotel after my wedding program".

"Lucy" I called out gently.

"Wh…at are you doing here?" I struggled to find my words.

"Hi Liam," She said with a smile.

"Hi," I replied awkwardly.

"Are you lodged in the hotel or you are here for something else"

But instead of her replying to me, she moved towards me, moved her hand down my chest and made way to kiss me. I pushed her away from me to prevent any further action from her. I could see the shock written all over her face but I couldn't take back what I'd done.

"Lucy, are you here again for me or is it just a coincidence we meet again?"

I said, trying to keep my voice down.

"Relax Liam, do you think it is easy for me to see you get married to another woman? it's not done that way"

"Get this well and clear, Liam, I love you and nothing, I mean absolutely nothing in this world can change that, not even your dad". She said, her voice filled with unshakeable convictions.

I stared at her in confusion, this is not the Lucy I know.

"Your dad was able to scare me off back then because I was young and easily intimidated but not now my dear, I've grown" She said boldly.

"I don't seem to understand you again Lucy" I said when I finally found my voice.

"You were the one advising me to make my marriage work, you even said it right in front of my wife" I pointed out.

"And now you are saying some things I don't seem to understand"

She had encouraged me to accept my fate and now she is saying something opposite.

"How did you even get to know I would be lodged here?" I asked, confused.

"I overheard," She replied.

"From whom?" I asked again.

"Does that matter? Can we go to a private place to discuss this?" She said, raising her eyebrows.

"I don't see any need  in discussing this further," I said firmly, trying to put an end to the conversation.

I knew Lucy could be persuasive and seductive, and I didn't want to fall victim to her charms .

I remember I had made a promise to myself and Asher before we slept yesterday to remain faithful and keep our love alive.

I truly loved Lucy , but I've moved on. When she advised me to focus on my marriage and love my wife. I made a commitment to honor that advice. Even though I only met Asher yesterday, I'm already feeling something for her. I can't deny my own feelings.

"Liam, we really need to talk, let's find a private place and discuss this" She said again.

"Talk on what exactly Lucy, you advised me to move on and I did" I said bluntly.

"Just yesterday and you already did, do you ever love me Liam". She said with tears welling up in her eyes but the crocodile tears didn't move me.

"Really,You want to know if I had ever loved you" I asked, trying to calm my voice.

"It's something you knew, Lucy. You know how much I cared about you. I looked everywhere for you, your friend's place and where I know I could find you but I couldn't find you. I couldn't bring myself to love anyone else when you were gone." I said slowly, emotions filling my voice.

I don't see any need to continue this conversation, I loved you but now I've moved on". I said and made to go but she pulled me back.

She  dragged me to herself, her eyes meeting mine. Before I could say anything, she pressed her lips against mine.

I froze, I couldn't move. Her lips were soft and warm as before. I found myself enjoying the moment, wanting for more and I felt my breath catch in my throat.

We both shut our eyes enjoying the feel of each other's lips against our own.  our hearts were pounding in our chests. The kiss was so intense that we forgot we were outside.

"Liam"

I jerked out as I heard Asher's voice, and I quickly pulled away from the  kiss.

I turned to face Asher, feeling my face flush with embarrassment. "Asher, it is not what you think," I stammered and went down on my knees. Tears were flowing down her cheek and I felt so bad for hurting her.

"It's not what it looks like" I said again, I could feel my eyes were already filled with tears.
