With a hand over her eyes, Everly glanced at the shimmering rays of sunshine piercing through the leafy trees, a huge smile on her face.
Taking in a deep breath of fresh air, Everly couldn’t help but skip a little on the dirt path before she unfolds the map in her hands. Everly yelped when she felt a shadow loomed over her and by the next second, the map was taken away.
Puffing up her cheeks, Everly turned over to the culprit with glaring eyes.
“Blaze, give it back!” Everly pouted, raising her hands trying to take her map back.
Laughing, Blaze leaps up and swiftly climbs onto the branch of a nearby tree.
“Oh, come on. I just wanted to see how close we are to Obarrow village.” Blaze sat down on the branch and peers at the map.
Everly stomped, crossing her arms before she turned towards Claire, pointing at Blaze: “Look at him, Claire!”
Claire sat down under the tree, taking out the lunch box she prepared earlier during the day and offered it to her friends. She waved at Disney asking Disney to come forward to eat.
Seeing the delicious food, Everly forget about her bickering with Blaze in mere seconds and took a seat beside Claire. Taking a huge bite of the riceball, her eyes went wide, a blissful smile on her face.
Seeing Everly’s sparkling eyes, Claire couldn’t help but felt a sense of satisfaction. Everly waved at Pluto, urging him to come over to eat, excited to share the tasty food with her friend.
Claire chews at her own riceball; watching Pluto stared at the lunch box with pursed lips as if he is debating to himself whether it is okay to eat, but Everly just grabbed a riceball and stuff it into his mouth.
Pluto seemed taken aback, he flinched still biting on the riceball as his eyes went wide a little. But, when he saw Everly beaming at him, his eyes soften and his shoulder relaxed. Heaving out a little sigh, Claire swore she saw his lips curl up a teensy bit.
Claire found herself smiling at how adorable these two are. She lifts her head and saw a certain redhead, turning the map around and trying to read the map from all sorts of angles with narrowed eyes.
When the young dragon prince noticed Claire watching, he flashes a huge grin at the young mermaid. The sunrays leafing through the green leaves, raining down on Blaze covering him like bits of diamonds, enveloping him in a soft glow.
Blaze’s grin seemed to brighten up the whole place, Claire felt her heart skip a beat and then it started to race as if she is getting a heart attack. Heat engulfed her cheeks as she quickly shifted her gaze away, trying to hide her blushing face as she took a huge bite of riceball.
Blaze tilted his head slightly before he groan at the badly draw map. Everly noticed how Blaze is about to jump down from the tree, she quickly covers up the lunch box so the dust won’t get into the food.
Glaring at the redhead, Everly swallowed before she complained: “We’re eating here, mind you!”
Blaze raised a brow, showing the map to his friends: “I’m surprised you even know where we’re going with this.”
Everyone closes in to take a look at the map. Everly draws a circle with the word Willow Town, then dotted line from Willow Town heading straight past a bunch of trees with ‘Chia Woods’ written on it and finally a huge ‘X’ that says ‘Obarrow Village’.
Claire was at a loss of words, she’s not sure whether she should be amaze at how they haven’t got lost with this simple map or she should felt impress at how Everly can recognize their way with that map of hers.
Flustered, Everly grabbed the map folding it and stuffed it into her pocket.
“Hmph! Don’t judge me, I actually did some researched in the library to draw this map.”
Claire smiled and was about to comfort Everly by patting her on the head when someone else is quicker in doing that.
Pluto patted Everly before he said: “Don’t worry, I already memorized the way to the village.”
Everly turned towards Pluto and stare at him, as if to reassure the peach-hair fairy, Pluto pursed his lips before he add: “We won’t get lost.”
A huge smile blooms on the fairy’s face as she nodded, her twintail bounces a little from her movement.
Claire tilted her head a little to the side as her eyes soften, then she saw Blaze kneeling on the ground rummaging through his bag: “Blaze, what are you doing?”
Scrolls, papers, and random items all scattered on the ground as the redhead continue to fish through his backpack.
“I bought a bunch of maps, it had to be here somewhere. I am fully prepared for whatever situation comes our way. I’ve everything in my trusty backpack.” Blaze said, without lifting his head.
Everly slightly sweatdropped, no wonder Blaze’s backpack is huge. She thought his whole place is within that bag, apparently, this guy here had more luggage stored in his scrolls. From what she known, those storage scrolls aren’t cheap.
Rich kid… Everly narrowed her eyes at the redhead and then rolled her eyes.
Blaze looked over his shoulder noticing Everly’s intimidating gaze: “Why are you looking at me like that?”
Everly pouted, turning her head away with a ‘hmph’.
Disney’s sudden bark make their heads turn and the sound of ruffling leaves caught Everly’s attention as she turned towards the bushes and her eyes went wide at the sight of multiple large wolves staring right at them.
A loud growl could be heard and the next thing she knew, a strong arm wrapped around her wrist pulling her back.
Pluto stood in front of her, shielding her from the pack of wolves.
Everly gave Blaze a side glance and points at the wolves: “Are you fully prepared for this as well?”
Blaze looks from Everly to the wolves and then back to Everly again: “Uh…maybe?”
Hi everyone, Hope everyone is doing well. I just wanted to let everyone know that I'm not going to drop this story. I will continue to update, but I might need some time. My grandma passed away. I hope you guys will stick with me until I'm back. Thank you so much, hope you all will have a great day. Love, Cherilyn
The wolves surrounded them, pacing in circles, watching their every move. For a moment there, nobody makes a move. They were clearly outnumbered by the pack of wolves. Disney stood in front of them, growling and ready to pounce and attack. When the wolves saw Disney, they paused for half a second before the lead of the pack growled and they continues. Golden flecks flicker in Pluto’s eyes, his fangs sharpening as bits of dark magic swirls around his hands. The others felt faint magic beneath their feet and their eyes went over to Everly. It is her flight magic circle. The large lead wolf took a step forward, straightening its back, and let out an intimidating howl. As if the horn to war is being blown, the battle erupts between Everly and her friends and also the pack of wolves. The light emits beneath their feet as the flight magic circle was formed, shooting up into mid-air while carrying Everly and her friends.
Summoning a large solar magic circle, Everly lets it charge itself by taking in the light of the sun rays.Without wasting any time, the lead wolf lets out a loud howland Everly’s eyes went wide when all the wolves’ corpses rise.Everly gulps exchanging cautious glance with her friends. The lead wolf growls and the lifeless wolf charges towards them. Not giving the corpse wolves any extra attention, Pluto speed his way towards the lead wolf. The same goes for Blaze.Twirling her hands, Claire’s eyes went over to all wolves including the lead wolf. With a flick of her hand, water twisters shoot against the corpse wolves wiping them all out. The large water tornado lunge towards the lead wolf like a howling dragon. The powerful impact caused the lead wolf to take half-step backwards, Blaze took the opportunity to throw dynamic fire slash at it. A gleam flickers in Pluto’s eyes as a sharp dark slit accelerate towards the lead wo
The village Chief of Lausanne looks gravely at Everly and Claire as he explains the events befallen to the land in the past decade. Everly can only watch him in awed silence as both she and Claire witness the man’s tale.“Ten years ago, Obarrow Land separated into two villages,” the Chief says, looking overwhelmed by the mere conversation. “My village, which is the one you’re in now and the village where my brother is chief.”Everly feels Claire tense up next to her. They don’t know any of these people and now there were more of them nearby. However thankful she was for them saving their lives, Everly still worried they might do something that damages them both. Maybe they had intentions to use them along the way.“Now, my brother and I aren’t particularly close anymore. I don’t know what his intentions might be now, but I know that I care about this village and I will protect it all costs.”It is then when Claire speaks. “I’m sorry Chief, but I don’t understand what we have to do wit
Everly and Claire immediately travel to Ross Village and spend half a morning searching for their friends. When they do find them, Blaze is busy helping the villagers by collecting herbs, something he has grown great at doing by the way the villagers speak highly of him as Everly and Claire watch him do this and handiwork on the village.Pluto is nowhere near as he does it, but they already know they’re safe because Blaze keeps talking about the way they have done heroic acts and how the villagers treat them with respect because of it.“They’re great. They think we are warriors of mythical descent that are here to help them in all. They tolerate any mishap we have because of how much we have helped them around. This village needs more people around to help.”It all seems a little rushed to Everly, what with the battle having been a mere two days earlier, or so. It wasn’t like she was keeping the time or anything, but it hasn’t passed that much time for them to be so respected so quick
Everlyblinked, finding herself in an unfamiliar and strange setting. The sun shone brightly in thesky, yetshe did not felt any warmthfrom its rays. She was surrounded by skyscrapers that she had never seen before, pedestrians adorned invarious types of clothing that were alien to her. People walkedfast on the street and talked into a tiny rectangular device. Her eyes went over to the large screen that hangedon one of the modern buildings.'Is this how the afterworld looks like?' Everly couldn't help but wonder.Curious, Everly flew near the screen.Yes,Everlyflew she wasa fairy. But now, she wasmerely a wandering soul. The only good part about being a soul was that she can flytowherever she wants even without her fairy wings. She stared at the k-pop idol group that was broadcasting through the screen. Everly tilted her head and watched what
Golden rays of sunshine danced through the floor-length window and trickled onto a peach-haired girl, enveloping the girl in a warm cocoon. Birds chirped faintly outside and fresh dewdrops glittered over the wild array of blossoms that peeked above the windowsill. Tiny rainbows danced throughout the dewdrops, flooding the interior of the café with rays of soft color. The pedestrians that passed through the café all wore smiles on their faces, basking in the warmth from the sun’s ray and the chime of the fluttering birds. It was a beautiful morning and could not have been a more perfect Summer day. However, inside the café the peach-haired girl felt as if she were standing in the middle of the North Pole. The blood that ran through her veins had turned ice cold and her body emitted small tremors.“Everly, can I have my coffee, please?Everly’s body continued to quiver, the feeling becoming more intense at merely hearing the
“Please…please don’t do this…no…n-no…No!!!” Everly screamed, eyes flying open. Sweat dripped heavily from her forehead as she took in her surroundings. For a moment she sat there, chest heaving from the still present nightmare. She turned to flick on the lamp and looked around. Safe. She was safe. The silly plush banana on her bed lay haphazardly on the floor near her floral-patterned curtains, thrown from her flailing limbs. She reached across to pluck it up and squeezed it tightly to her chest. The nightmare had felt so real, so…present. Everly pushed the covers back and walked to the bathroom to splash cold water on her face. She leaned against the sink, finally looking up at her reflection as droplets shimmied down her face. Everly looked over her shoulder, trying to imagine the space where her wings should have been. She bit her lip and clenched her fists as a surge of anger rose in her. She would never forgive Edward for what he had done t
