Chapter Four
•KIANA•
"Huh Julie... What's the occasion? Isn't this a little too much for someone that's going to be locked up in a room all day?" I asked with a puzzled look on my face.
"No, it's not too much. And you're not going to stay locked up in this room. You're going to have brunch with The Boss' family." She said and I froze.
Say what?!
"What did you say?" I quizzed, like I didn't hear her the first time she said it.
"You're going to have brunch with The Boss' family." She repeated calmly.
"Why? And who is this "Boss" that you've been talking about?" I questioned, emphasizing on the boss.
"You're having brunch with them because they want to meet you and also because the Boss said so. And the Boss I've been talking about is Mr. Aiden Griffin." She responded patiently.
Who the heck is Mr. Aiden Griffin?! I've never heard of that name in the twenty years that I've spent on Earth.
"Uhm... Okay." I sighed.
"Is it mandatory for me to go for brunch? Can my food be brought to me?" I asked, hoping that I could skip meeting with "The Boss' Family".
"Unfortunately, no. You have to go for brunch and get to meet the Family." She uttered and a defeated sigh left my mouth.
"Fine... Then we better go now and face the Family. I'm starving anyway." I said and stood up from the vanity chair.
"Lead the way." I told Julie after I had moved away from the dressing area. I walked behind her as she walked towards the door, she opened it and stepped out and I followed behind her. The first thing I saw after I stepped out were two men in black. They were standing on either side of the door and I figured out that they were guards situated there to stop me from escaping. I bet it wouldn't be possible to escape if I'm locked in though. Extra security, nice one.
Julie walked ahead of me while I fell into step behind her. I kept looking around, gawking at almost everything I saw because they all looked expensive and they were all tasteful. I didn't see any picture frame though. I had hoped that I could see one so that I could have an idea of what "The Boss" looked like. But I saw none. There were guards situated in almost every corner too. The security sure is tight here. I wouldn't be able to escape if I tried.
We finally arrived at the dinning room and three people were already seated. The room had a long dining table with eight chairs surrounding it. I could see series of food on the table and my stomach growled at the sight. I haven't eaten for over a day now and it was as if the food were calling me.
"Sir Griffin, she's here." Julie announced with a bow and every eyes snapped towards my direction. I squirmed under their scrutinizing gazes. It felt like the three of them were looking deep into my soul. The three people around the table were a man, a woman and a lady that looked to be in her twenties. The man and woman were obviously a couple.
"Hi!" I waved at them shyly, unsure of what to do in the situation I found myself in.
"Hey! You must be Kiana." The lady came over and engulfed me in a tight hug and I tentatively hugged her back. They knew my name already. How cool.
"Come have a sit." She said and practically dragged me to the chair beside the one she had been sitting on.
"Good morning ma and sir." I greeted the older couple and they smiled at me.
"Good morning, Kiana." They responded to my greeting simultaneously.
"How was your night? Did you sleep well?" She asked.
'I didn't have any idea of how my night went. I was drugged.' I thought but I didn't tell her that.
"My night was fine, ma. Thank you." I smiled briefly.
My attention was on the different types of food on front of me and I was salivating already. I'm pretty sure I looked weird but I didn't care at the moment, all I wanted to do was to fill my stomach.
"Let's eat!" The man announced. He must have seen how I was staring at the food dreamily. I didn't hesitate to dig in.
"Ohhh, slow down, Kiana, or you're gonna choke." The woman said I turned red in embarrassment. I was so hungry that I was rushing myself.
"Thank you, ma'am." I said and slowed down.
"It's fine, you're probably starving." She smiled. Oh, she doesn't know the half of it. This is the first food I will be eating in over twenty four hours.
"So... I figured out that you don't know our names and we're going to introduce ourselves to you." The older woman uttered and I bobbed my head.
"That would be nice. I didn't know how I was going to ask for your names." I blushed.
"Okay... My name is Emma, this is my husband Gabriel and the overly excited girl beside you is Cassie, our daughter." She said and I bobbed my head.
"It's nice to meet you guys." I flashed a small smile at them.
"It is great to meet you. You don't know how happy I am to see you." Emma grinned and I stared in perplexion.
Why was she so happy to see me? It's not like I'm some special guest that they would be happy to meet. I'm just a prisoner, suffering for a debt her father couldn't pay. I didn't even know the purpose of the breakfast I'm having with The Boss' Family. Is he trying to make me feel less of a prisoner? I don't even know anything anymore.
"Kiana, tell us about yourself please. We'll like to know more about you." Cassie, who was sitting beside me spoke up.
Interested in a prisoner? I see.
"Well... There's nothing much to know about me. My name is Kiana Smith, I'm 20 years old and I graduated from highschool two years ago, I haven't been able to go to college because of money. And yeah, I love writing, it's my favorite thing to do."
"Interesting... You sound like there's not much going on in your life. Doesn't it get boring?" Emma said and asked, peering at me.
"Yeah... I don't have friends. I stay indoors most of the time. The only time I go out of the house is whenever I go to my part-time job or when I am sent on errands. Also, it gets pretty boring but I've gotten used to being alone" I replied with a shrug.
"Okay..." She trailed off like she didn't know what she was going to say anymore and I understood her.
While eating, we kept making small talks in-between and I got to know more about them too. They were very nice people and Cassie was a bundle of joy. If they were like this, I wonder how their son, "The Boss" would be.
Chapter Five•KIANA•I was in my room two hours later, laying on the bed with nothing to do. Breakfast with Emma, Gabriel and Cassie went really well and I secretly wished for it to never end but they had to go back to their house. Turns out this Villa was for "The Boss" and he didn't live with his family. They only came to get to know me and have brunch with me which was quite a nice thing to do. Now, I'm back in my room with nothing to do. I could only stare at the ceiling as if there was something interesting about it.If I had a notebook and pen with me. I could make myself busy by writing but neither of that was here. Trust me, I've checked every nook and cranny of this room but I didn't find anything that I could write with. I would have asked Julie for the notebook and pen but she had left me after the brunch and the door was locked. I had nothing to do except for laying on the bed and staring at the ceiling and walls.I was beginning to fall asleep when I heard someone open t
Chapter Six•KIANA•I woke up two hours later when I felt someone's burning gaze on me. I snapped my eyes open to see a large figure bent above me. The figure showed that it was a man and I stared into deep blue eyes that were staring right at me. The first thing I heard the figure say was:"Hello Kiana. Nice to finally meet you." The deep voice resounded in my ears and it sent shivers down my spine.I instantly got into a sitting position, scared to the bones."Who are you?" Was the first thing that came out of my mouth."Your soon-to-be husband." He replied coldly and I shivered in fear.I have a feeling that this man is not nice."I don't have a future husband!" I blurted out a snappy reply before I could stop myself."Oh? You don't?" He asked in a tone that I could very well tell that he was mocking me."Yes! I still have a long way to go in my life and a husband in not part of my agenda now." I stated."Oh well, you don't have a choice in this matter, bitch." He said coldly."I
Chapter Seven•KIANA•"What did you just say?" I asked dumbly, like I didn't hear what he said before."You've been making me repeat myself in the last minutes and I don't normally do that." He stated."I said that what if I sent you to college?""Wow, do you mean it? This is the first time I'm hearing something like this." I uttered, staring at him with a mixture of shock and disbelief."I don't say things that I don't mean." He responded simply.I couldn't believe what I was hearing. I had always dreamed of going to college to study English Literature but I discarded that thought because of lack of money. Now, Aiden is offering to send me to college. There's no way I'm refusing that offer.I looked at him with tears welling up in my eyes."Are you serious?" I asked in a whisper."Yes bitch, I am!" He snapped and I figured out that he couldn't take any more of my questions. I turned a deaf ear to what he addressed me as."Wow, thank you so much. I don't know how to appreciate you."
Chapter Eight•AIDEN•I walked through the dark hallways that lead to the torture room.My best friend and second-in-command, Liam, was the one that came to the dinning room to summon me. The victim in the torture room was giving them a hard time so they needed me to come take care of it.I opened the door to the room and strode into the room with my hands shoved inside my pockets. I walked into the cold and dim room, my eyes fixated on the battered man that was tied to the chair. His face was full of bruises but it was very much deserved."Good evening, Boss." All of my men that were present in the room inclined their heads and greeted me.I nodded my head in response."He still haven't talked?" I asked Liam and he bobbed his head."Yes, the fucker said that he would rather eat shit than say anything." Liam replied.Interesting.The fucker did something that he knew I hated and he knew perfectly well that he would be punished for it but he went on to do it. He got high on my drugs,
Chapter Nine|Next Morning|•KIANA•I woke up some minutes ago and immediately went to the bathroom to take my bath. I got dress dressed in the outfit Julie brought for me. Then I went to the dining room to have breakfast which was practically toast, bacon, eggs and tea. After having breakfast, Julie came to my room and informed me that it was time for us to go to the mall to get the things I'll be needing in the house. She took me to the garage where I saw different fleet of cars ranging from SUVs to jeeps to sports cars. We met an older man who was in a dark suit and he appeared to be the one driving us."We're taking that car." He uttered, pointing at one of the SUVs. I bobbed my head and got into the backseat of the car with Julie. The older man got into the driver's seat after us and drove out of the villa.I looked out of the window to see the route we were driving through. The whole place was surrounded by trees on both sides, no sight of other houses or people and I almost th
Chapter Ten|Nighttime; 8:00 p.m.|•AIDEN•"What are planning to do to him?" Liam asked me.We were on our way to Rodrigo's mansion and I only took Liam with me because I was sure as hell that I could take on Rodrigo by myself and he will handle any of Rodrigo's boys that were around."I'll beat him so hard and leave him on the verge of death. He will beg for death but I wouldn't give that to him, I will leave him to die slowly." I explained absentmindedly. My mind was on something else entirely. And that something totally didn't involve a certain gain that had a banging body that I wished to ravish in all ways possible."I trust you." He said with a chuckle. He was driving while I sat at the passenger side of the car.Soon, Liam pulled over at a place a little bit far from Rodrigo's mansion but we could see his house from there. Stupidly enough for him, he didn't have a gate so it would be easier for us to get into the place. As expected, there were men with guns all over the place.
Chapter Eleven|Morning|•KIANA•I have been awake for a few hours now but I only laid on my bed and wrote in my new notebook. I had always been a lazy writer and would always procrastinate instead of writing but recently, inspiration just seems to flow and I have been writing more than before. It's a good thing since I don't have anywhere to go and I'm pretty much locked up so I like it.I got up two hours later and saw that I had written about five pages in the notebook and I smiled proudly. I would need to get a phone or laptop very soon though because I can't keep on writing in notebooks. Maybe I should inform my "soon-to-be husband" about it when I see him, I'm sure it's not an expensive thing for him to purchase, unlike my Dad.I went to the bathroom and brushed my teeth then took a very long and refreshing bath. Then I went to my vanity and rubbed lotion on my body and I got dressed in one of the clothes Julie and I had went to shop for. The outfit was a simple one: a grey col
Chapter Twelve|Evening|•KIANA•I was just coming back to my room after hours of gossiping and having fun with Liam. He told me a lot of things about Aiden. They had been friends since they were kids because boh of their parents were friends and they even thought of each other as brothers that they never had. Liam's parents died in a plane crash and Aiden's parents took him in since none of his parents' family members were turning up. He also told me that Aiden was a chubby kid, he even showed me pictures of him and I felt like pulling his cheeks through the phone. I was shocked that a cute chubby little boy that looked like he would be scared of spiders grew up to be a very hot muscular man that scares the shit out of people.I was laying on my bed, staring at the ceiling like something interesting was going on there. I was beginning to drift off to sleep when I heard a knock on the door. I slowly stood up and went to answer the door. I saw Julie standing outside my room and she smi
