Chapter Two

Amelia's POV

"You are going to regret exactly what you are doing now. I'm going to make a life for you hell, trust me," he added.

"You are going to get what you are wishing for me!" I ran out and grabbed my bag. I left my workplace feeling like a dumb victim.  He took me for granted.

When I walked out of the office, I felt like my own superhero. Everything went down when I got back home to realize that the next day was going to be another day and I would have to face him again.

"Shit!"I  added. I found it hard to make dinner because I was not ready for a new ugly experience tomorrow.

The morning sun woke me up. I made sure that I did all I needed to do. I made breakfast yesterday and I kept it in the fridge. All I had to do was throw it into the microwave.

I was feeling perhaps, and I didn't know how to feel about the day.

I dressed up and I took a lot of time to style my hair. I honestly loved the look.

I picked up a taxi and on my way to work, I got a text from Nelly.

I refused to open it. We had a little argument yesterday. I did not know how to respond better because I was angry. I was upset about what happened to me at my workplace.

In the taxi, I completed my makeup. I glossed my lips and I used enough setting powder. After I paid the taxi man, I had this horrible feeling. My intuition was leading me somewhere different.

I decided to put my phone in " do not disturb" mode.

Not like anyone was going to call, my life was already in enough jeopardy.

I walked in and I noticed that the closed tab was still showing outside. I was praising myself that I came early. When I got in, everyone was present and there was a meeting. "Oh, Amelia! You are finally here. I thought you would come late again today," Rex said.

I stared in total confusion at what I didn't see coming. I could see the manager. My heart started pounding when I remembered what happened between me and the supervisor.

Rex was the supervisor. He was very grumpy and I tried my best to avoid him. I did more work avoiding him than my job, but it didn't work.

He always had eyes on me. If it happened, it happened.

"Good morning," I greeted with a light voice.

"You have been accused of stealing some documents from the storage room yesterday. Is that  true?" The manager asked.

"No, no. I would never do that. I was reprimanded yesterday because I was late to work yesterday. That also involved doing most of the job as our dear supervisor asked every other person to leave," I added sarcastically.

"Ms. Amelia, that's not the problem," Rex added. I frowned at him and I felt like walking toward him to give him a hard punch in his face.

"Why won't you add the scene where I caught you and you decided to bribe me with intimacy just to get away with it," he added and smirked.

"Shit! You are lying." I raised my voice, trying to defend myself.

"I never did any of that and none of those things happened. Please!" I said, putting my hands together and begging the manager to listen to me.

"Are you trying to say I'm lying?" Rex interrupted.

"You are not doing this fair enough and you know that. Everyone knows that it can't be me who would stoop so low," I added.

"I didn't do any of that, please. Why are you all keeping quiet?" I asked my other colleagues.

The Manager tried after asking the rest of my colleagues if any other person had something to say to defend me.

"If you don't have anything to defend her, I would then ask everyone to go back to work," The manager ordered.

I was in awe when I saw everyone walk away from the scene. I realized that no one wanted to lose their job.

Mr. Rex is a toxic person and I had myself to blame for even making it to my workplace late that day.

"You have to believe me. I didn't do any of what he said. The opposite happened."

"After I was done with all the files, I had to go to the store to send them in and he came in. I didn't do any of what he was saying, "I pleaded with a shaky voice.

I was stunned by how everything turned out. I messed up.

"He was the one, he tried raping me," I added.

"Why do you just love messing with my reputation? Yes, you have a gorgeous body, but your character has messed up every other thing that is beautiful about you," he added.

Although it was a lie, it slapped me. I was weak and helpless.

"You know that there's a greater punishment," the manager added. He walked towards me and he dropped a white envelope beside me.

Tears of pain eroded my eyes. I picked it up and I walked down the stairs. I cried my eyes out.

"I wish I was ready to lose my job because I know he tried raping you yesterday. There could have been some ways to prove it, but after you left yesterday, he erased everything. "

The coworker said and patted my back. I was tired because I was ready to give him an external scolding. One he would never have to forget in a long time.

Well, I realized that no one was ready to help me. Mr. Rex was capable of anything and it was hard for me to understand everything. I needed to be defended, but I could not get that type of love.

I stepped out of the office without looking back. Apart from being broken, I started thinking about places where I might be able to get a job. It was hard.
