Chapter Four

Kylian's POV

It has been a while since I was someone who looked and sounded so serious. I didn't know what to say to her after a minute, so the entire room wavered in silence.

"You were asked to stay here for a while and have a good rest. I'm very sorry that happened," I added.

It was not easy being nice to a total stranger.

"Okay? How's that my business?" She replied with an attitude. I felt like blasting back, but when I stared at her and the bandage on her head and legs, I felt bad.

"You have to rest for a while, so you can get better to take care of yourself," I tried to be nice again.

"What's your name? I don't mean to be rude, but this is very important to me. If you would offer some kind of help, I would feel much better than what you are doing," she explained.

When I looked at the time, I realized that I wanted the day.

"I'm Kylian," I said with a soft tone.

"You don't need to go that far because I'm here and I can help you with a job," I added.

I was smart because I was about to kill two birds with a stone. Apart from that, I was the one who brought her to the hospital. I felt it was my full responsibility to make sure she was fully fine and stable.

Amelia's POV

My entire day could be themed on disaster and particles. It was always getting worse. I didn't know if it was me, but I was not getting it at all. After I decided to cross over to the other side of the road to get a taxi, I remembered that I met with an accident.

I was the happy victim. I felt so overwhelmed, and he left the room without saying anything. I did not know how to feel, but the good sight of a handsome man made me feel like I was okay.

He had chocolate brown hair accompanied by sky-blue eyes that shone with a mysterious light when he smiled.

I loved the shape of his eyes, they were almond-shaped and he had defined cheekbones. I was amazed. I was feeling confused.

After a while of waiting, the door of my room in the hospital opened.

"I need to leave this place!" I added, I thought it was Kylian. That was the name he told me.

"Why do you want to leave when you just got here and you are not doing well?"

I was stunned, happy, and everything that I could even imagine while being a patient in the hospital. It was my best friend, Nelly.

I was like the little one who had to stand up straight beside Nelly. I remembered she texted me, but I ignored it.

"I'm so happy to see you. I can't even imagine what I'm seeing," I was smiling to the end of my ears.

"Alright, alright. Touch me and see!" She moved closer and I used my hands to touch her. It was Nelly, I never doubted it.

I was just a little overdramatic.

"How did you get here? Why didn't you reply to me?" Nelly already started throwing a bunch of questions in my face.

"Which should I answer first?" I grinned.

"The first one. I am so worried, girl!" She added.  I loved Nekky because she had a kind heart. If I had the place to change her name, then I would have given her kindness.

"I don't know. I-I bumped into a car," I added, lifting my hands and looking confused.

"When did you forget to cross the road?" She asked again.

"I don't have a job anymore. I survived a rape situation, and…"

"Rape?" She interrupted me.

"Yeah. I don't have a good temper, Nelly. I gave it to him just like he deserved it."

"The next day, I decided to give it a full wrap-up, but he was ten steps ahead of me. He framed me and my main boss fired me by giving me a white envelope," I narrated with a low tone.

"All for you? I'm sorry." She rubbed my hands.

I smiled, I was happy to have her around.  She had always been a good and kind-hearted friend.

"And where's the man that sounded grumpy over the phone?" Nelly looked around.

"Grumpy man? Did you call my phone?" I asked, giving a curious look.

"Yeah, I felt like knowing why my boss didn't reply to my message," she replied.

"He was the one who sent your location. He also told me you were in the hospital. "Nelly muttered.

I took a deep breath and let out a big sigh.

"He left. I don't know if he's going to come back, but I need a job, Nelly," I added. I knew I sounded desperate already. I knew how hard it was going to be to survive on my own without a good-paying job.

Everything felt like cycles of trauma.

"With the way things look, I feel like you should not worry. You are going to have a job, somehow," Nelly tried to cheer me up.

"Well, what can I say?" I muttered slowly.

"I wanted to see you earlier today. I'm leaving the city. I will come back as soon as I'm done with some work," Nelly's face changed. It looked like she was not happy that she was leaving.

"I'm sorry, you don't have to."

"That was why I texted. I missed my morning flight because you didn't reply. I had to go to the airport and reschedule the flight for the night."

I watched her explain. I started feeling sorry. The little happiness that came in when she moved into my hospital room, left with her.

I just lay on my bed, hoping that I didn't even see the tunnel.

"Shit," I covered my palm on my face.
