Elsewhere, the Grey family had just arrived at the area where Amaya’s pack used to be. The older woman felt her heart constrict at the loss she experienced when she was last here. Edward reached out to hold her hand, squeezing it.
“How come there’s nothing here?” Samantha asked as they stared out at the nothingness.
Amaya sighed. “That’s probably my fault. I lost everyone important to me that day, except you three, and out of anger, I lashed out and cursed the land. I don’t doubt that people tried over the years to occupy the land, but my spell would’ve eventually driven them away.”
Killian touched his mother’s shoulder out of comfort. “Did you guys ever find out who attacked the pack?”
Edward shook his head. “We’ve had our theories over the years, but no concrete evidence ever led us down a certain path.”

Having spaced out linking her mate, she’d missed hearing the bell, and Calypso wasn’t beside her. She could hear a ruckus going on outside and she rushed to find everyone running to the cafeteria.
