Ch 97 - Until The End of His Days
He had locked himself away in the war room, and Vera sighed to herself when she realized that he hadn’t paid her any attention in a while. She couldn’t complain though – not when she knew that he was holding things in.
A lot had happened since Calypso had come back into his life, and things were already shaky even before she did. It had only been a couple of months since they’d gotten married, and with the vampire kingdom struggling with unrest, it was almost a reflection of their relationship.
She loved Zen with her entire being, that much she’d never contest, but she found herself curious about what life would’ve looked like had she been mated with a normal vampire. Things with Zen had been passionate from the moment they met, but he’d always carried a burden with him.
A burden she finally had unravelled before her.
