Ch 98 - Stuck in This Hell Loop
They arrived to an empty pack house, unaware that everyone had been instructed to steer clear. They searched the house, finding it strange that the massive pack had disappeared. It wasn’t until they got outside that they were truly mystified.
“Where did everyone go?” Vera asked her mate.
He was about to respond when his sense caught the high-speed arrow headed their way. He managed to dodge it and get Vera behind him at the same time. There were many more arrows shot their way, and he realized they were under attack.
“Go back inside,” he told Vera.
He didn’t question why she willingly complied as he was focused on defending his sister’s home. “Whoever you are, show your face.”
Instead of a face, a dagger was flung his way, and soon the daggers replaced the arrows. He dodged them all with ease before a group of vampires he’d never before encountered came out of the woods.
