"You bitch!" George yelled while hitting her. He kicked her abdomen and laid hits upon hits on every part of her body.
Lara tried covering her face as her mate hit her. She didn't scream nor did she cry. She had become numb to his beatings. Did they hurt? Yes, but she found out that crying and begging him only made him more angry.
George hated the sight of his mate. She reminded him of her mother, the evil wench. With fury, he relentlessly stomped on her. His anger intensified when he noticed she wasn't crying and begging him.
"You think you could steal from me! I'll kill you!" He yelled.
"I didn't," Lara begged in a weak voice. She couldn't fathom how a little misplaced jacket could make George so angry that he was hitting her like his enemy. While he kept on hitting her, she silently prayed that her daughter wouldn't come home at that moment.
George glared at the distasteful sight of his mate. His inner wolf was protesting, hating to see his mate hurt. But George didn't care. The only person that could make him stop maltreating her was his father. And his father was in support of him.
"Stand up, you stupid bitch!" Lara stood up from the floor, holding her stomach. She was in dire pain but didn't say anything to him. He wouldn't care anyway.
"The next time you try to steal from me again, I'll kill you," he threatened her.
Lara gulped, scared of his facial expression. It seems he was done with her. She tried to speak but he held her face and pressed hard on it. Tears stung her eyes.
"Clean yourself up before I get back. I want you tonight," George barked.
It was the only thing she was good at. The shameless slut! Sex with her was mind-blowing so while he hated her, he still had sex with her. The attraction of their mate bond made sex very intense with her.
"Answer me!"
"Yes, George," Lara cried out. He lets go of her and walks out the door. Her knees gave up and she slumped to the floor.
This was her new life. Or rather, the only life she could remember. Her inner wolf whimpered in pain. Her mate hated them.
It was causing damage to her wolf. Lara sensed her daughter enter the house and quickly stood up. She felt an intense pain in her abdomen but couldn't care about it.
She ran to the bathroom to escape the confused and pitiful expression that'll be on her daughter's face if she saw her on the floor.
Lara sat on the floor and cried silently. Tears poured out of her eyes like a storm. She was tired of life and wanted to kill herself.
Her innocent daughter was the only reason she couldn't go ahead with it. Desi would be treated like her. George had threatened her saying if she tries committing suicide he was going to give Desi to the men in the pack.
The threat worked because she had never tried to kill herself although the urge was there. Lara was tired of living.
"Let's leave," her inner wolf urged her. Lara stopped crying. What was that? She didn't expect her wolf to speak to her.
"Let's leave mate," the weak voice said again. Lara stood up and cleaned the tears from her eyes. Her inner wolf was speaking to her. "Let's run away."
Lara shook her head. She couldn't leave. Not without her daughter. "I can't leave. He'll find me."
She couldn't leave her daughter and also couldn't run away with her. It was too dangerous. Their pack was one of the biggest. George was also one of the strongest wolves she had ever met. Lara was too scared to do anything.
He could find her in the blink of an eye. Besides, she could not put her five year old daughter in danger. She wiped the tears from her eyes and stood up. She needed to get herself ready for him.
If he comes back and sees her looking unattractive, then she'll get another correction for not adhering to his instructions. Lara took her bath and wore his favorite gown.
Her eyes were void of emotions. She couldn't remember the last time she smiled willingly. She left the bathroom and went to her daughter's room. The door was slightly open so she stood there watching her daughter play with her doll.
No child in the pack wanted to play with Desi. As a mother, it made her distressed. Her daughter was lonely. Desi would always come to her when no one wanted to play with her.
Maybe running away might be good for both of them. After staring at her daughter for a few minutes, Lara made her decision. She turned back and ran to her room. She quickly took out the few dresses she had and placed them in her bag. Ever since her father died, she had never gotten any good clothes to wear so she had very few clothes.
Her daughter, on the other hand, had a lot. George had made sure she dressed elegantly. Just like the Alpha's daughter that she is. Lara was thankful for that. She also took a few of his shirts so she could smell like him.
He might be able to find her if he traced her scent but if she blocked her scent with his, then it might be harder. Lara was tense. She wasn't sure of her decision but was going to stick by it.
She closed the bag and placed it in the closet. George would never suspect when he comes back. She ran to Desi's room and started picking out her clothes too.
"What are you doing, mummy?" Desi asked her while on the bed. She turned to her daughter and smiled.
"I'm going to put your clothes inside a bag and we are going to play hide and seek okay," Lara said.
"Okay! What should I do?" Desi ran to her. Lara saw the excitement on her daughter's face and silently asked for forgiveness from her.
"Here," she gave her a dress. "Put this on and wait for me. Mummy will be done soon," Lara told her. Desi took the gown and wore it.
"Are we going to go riding?" Desi frowned. The gown Lara had given her was meant for riding a horse.
"Yes we might have to," Lara whispered and placed one finger on her lips. "It's a secret. Don't tell your Daddy when he comes back, okay."
"Okay I won't," Desi smiled and ran to pick up her doll. She hurriedly placed her daughter's clothes inside a bag and hid it. George would not be back till late in the night which gave her enough time to prepare.
This was the only opportunity she had to run away. She stood up and ran outside. To her surprise, George was outside with his father, the Alpha.
They stopped talking and glanced at her. Lara quickly lowered her gaze and acted every bit like the submissive mate.
"Welcome, Alpha," she said sweetly. Alpha Robert rolled his eyes at her.
"What are you doing outside? Get back inside the house!" George ordered. She ran back inside the house and panicked.
Why was George back? And why was his father with him? She always knew Alpha Robert was the reason for George's attitude towards her but she didn't care.
He was going to hit her again. She knew it. She went upstairs to their bedroom and waited for him. A few minutes later, he stomped into the room in a rage.
Immediately his eyes fell on her, he took long strides and slapped her hard on the face.
"Why were you outside?" He bellowed. Lara stood up but couldn't say anything. She kept her eyes on the floor while trembling.
"Answer me you bitch!" He continued to yell. As he raised his hand to strike her abdomen, she knelt, but it was too late. He landed a punch to her face, causing Lara to collapse on the ground in an unconscious state.
She heard her name faintly and tried to open her eyes. There was a throbbing pain in her cheek. "Mummy, mummy," she heard her daughter's voice and her eyes flew open immediately. "Desi?" She called out. Desi sat on the floor watching her mum. Lara stood up from the floor in search of her mate. "Where's your father?" She asked Desi."He left," she answered. Lara felt something cold on her face and touched her nose. There was blood pouring out from her nose. She ran to the bathroom and tried to wash it off. Some drops of blood had already stained the white gown she wore. She didn't care and raised her head after washing her face in the sink. Lara froze. Her face was swollen. With trembling hands, she touched her face. It seems now was the best time to run. It was already dark and while she didn't know where to go, she knew she couldn't stay any longer. With determination brimming from her eyes, she went back to the room. She brought out her bag and went through it. It was still inta
"We need to move faster if we want to get there in time," Brad told Cage. Cage grumbled under his breath. "What was that?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow. "We could have just left them there, you know. I see no reason bringing them with us," Cage said. Behind them was the female wolf they had just rescued. She was still unconscious which was becoming a nuisance to them. They had a mission to accomplish and didn't have the time to cater to a stranger. To top it all, her little daughter was sitting with Brad on his horse comfortably. "And what if they get attacked again? Her mother is still unconscious, Cage. It won't do us any harm to assist them. Once the mother becomes conscious, we could leave them in the nearest town." Cage's expression changed. He looked at his brother with a funny expression. "What?" Brad frowned."You? You are going to abandon them in the closest town?" He asked bewildered. Cage knew his twin brother was softhearted and would never abandon them if they asked
Brad came down from his horse and helped the young female wolf. She had stopped bleeding but was still too weak. He brought her down and carried her into the palace. Cage had already left with Desi. He took her inside as the guards ran to the healer's home to call on him. They prepared a room for the mother and daughter while they waited. The healer rushes into the room, thinking something had gone wrong with one of the twins. He was surprised when he saw them hovering around two girls. "Your Majesties!" He yelled as he entered, calling their attention to his presence. They glanced at the door and saw him."Come on, she's dying!" Brad waves him over. The healer sighs in relief when he sees both of them strong without any injuries. He walked towards the bed and saw the ghastly injury on the young woman. He quickly dropped his things on the ground, opened his medical kit and started working on cleaning the injury so it doesn't get infected. The healing process was too slow, he notic
George growled at his men. They were a weak set of pathetic wolves. He released his dominant aura making them fall to their knees in submission. "What do you mean you could not find her, huh?" He yelled angrily. He watched them quiver in fear while glancing at one other. No one was ready to relay the news to him. They were all scared of his violent temper "I asked you, weaklings, a question!" He yelled again, his anger getting the best out of him. His eyes were glowing and his fangs were protruding out of his mouth. "We…. We searched everywhere, Alpha," one of them stuttered in fear. He walked to him and pulled him up. He could not look at George without trembling. "Everywhere? You searched everywhere?" "Y..ye.. yes, Alpha." He threw him across the room angrily. "No, you didn't. Lara is in this pack. She is in this town. At most, she will be in the woods," he growled. The men glanced at each other but stayed quiet. They knew she wasn't in the woods. "You are all useless. Get my
Brad and Cage walk to their throne quietly. They had dismissed Ted and Alexis as they wanted time for themselves. They both had a lot on their minds. Brad was thinking about the two ladies they just brought while Cage was thinking about what to do to be able to see the gems. Being Kings of Lycans, they had a huge task in their minds. It didn't help that they couldn't even do the basic thing that their parents had always been able to do. Cage felt angry at himself. As the first between the both of them, he felt more responsible about the Kingdom. They might be the Kings but he couldn't help but feel more disappointed. Brad glanced at his brother, knowing exactly what was going through his mind. It has occurred to him that Cage might be beating himself up. There was nothing he could do to pull his brother out once he started blaming himself. Unless he suggests sex. "You're quiet, Cage. What is going on?" Brad called out, glancing at him. He was concerned about his brother. "I feel
They stared at her with so much intensity, Lara could not move her body. She was in a big room with two men yet she felt suffocated inside. One of them held her hands, pinning her hands on the headboard. Unconsciously she arched her chest upwards, making their eyes fall on her naked chest. She didn't know how she had gotten naked but it was not a priority at the moment. They stared at her with heat blazing from their eyes. Lara wanted them yet couldn't move. She didn't know who they were but she was drawn to them. "Let us in, Lara," one of them said. She glanced at him but still couldn't see his face. Who were they? "You're holding back," the other grumbled. She opened her mouth to speak but couldn't hear herself. What was going on? Her wolf kept pushing her to accept them. She shook her head. "No, you don't want us?" They asked again. The one holding her hands was still wearing his clothes while the other was naked. The naked one brought his head forward and put one of her nippl
George hesitates to enter his father's room. He knew how angry Robert could be. It was his fault. He should have placed more concern in monitoring Lara but he never thought she would try to run away. She didn't have anywhere to go. Unless she wants to go in search of her father. He was dead though. Lara might not know that but he did. George knew his father had killed him. Everyone knew it. And now, due to his attitude towards her, she is gone. Dead or alive, he wasn't sure. "I can hear you breathing and pacing outside, George. Come in or get out," Robert called out from his room. George stopped pacing and entered inside. "Father," he said as soon as he entered. He glanced at Robert sitting on his bed with his eyes closed. He took a little step and stopped walking, giving some space between him and the bed. Robert was like a calming storm. "Did you find her?" "No Father but we found something else." George brought out the pieces of clothes having Lara's scent that they had found.
"Desi come here!" Lara yelled as Desi ran away from her. She tried to walk to her but was slow. Her injuries still hurt. "No, I want to be with Sir Brad and Sir Cage," Desi replied stubbornly causing Lara to halt in her footsteps. Was that the reason she was trying to run away? She frowned. Desi didn't understand and she wasn't going to explain it to her. She was too young. Lara sighed. Desi also stopped running and stood by the side. Lara was confused. It was going to be hard, running away from this palace. She didn't like it. While she was grateful for their help, she didn't want to stay any minute longer. The healer that came to check up on her advised her not to move much or else she'll tear his stitches. His stitches were very bad actually but it didn't matter to him. If she wanted to heal any faster then she will do as he said. Lara glanced around. The Lycan maids all stared at her as they walked past her. Some glared at her. She wrapped her arms around her chest, feeling n
