Everything was going wrong and there was nothing Ted could do to assist. Cassandra was punished by flogging. The Kings took pity on her and had her flogged. It wasn't what they wanted. Cage glanced at his brother. They needed Ted to get evidence for them else they'd have no choice but to put her in the dungeon for conspiracy. "You bitch!" George yelled while hitting her. He kicked her abdomen and laid hits upon hits on every part of her body. Lara tried covering her face as her mate hit her. She didn't scream nor did she cry. She had become numb to his beatings. Did they hurt? Yes, but she found out that crying and begging him only made him more angry. George hated the sight of his mate. She heard her name faintly and tried to open her eyes. There was a throbbing pain in her cheek. "Mummy, mummy," she heard her daughter's voice and her eyes flew open immediately. "Desi?" Lara felt something cold on her face and touched her nose. There was blood pouring out from her nose. She ran to the bathroom and tried to wash it off. Some drops of blood had already stained the white gown she wore. She didn't care and raised her head after washing her face in the sink. Lara froze. Her face was swollen. With trembling hands, she touched her face. It seems now was the best time to run. "We need to move faster if we want to get there in time," Brad told Cage. Cage grumbled under his breath. "What was that?" He asked with a cocked eyebrow. "We could have just left them there, you know. I see no reason bringing them with us," Cage said. Behind them was the female wolf they had just rescued. She was still unconscious which was becoming a nuisance to them. They had a mission to accomplish and didn't have the time to cater to a stranger. He took her inside as the guards ran to the healer's home to call on him. They prepared a room for the mother and daughter while they waited. The healer rushes into the room, thinking something had gone wrong with one of the twins. He was surprised when he saw them hovering around two girls. "Your Majesties!" He yelled as he entered, calling their attention to his presence. They glanced at the door and saw him."Come on, she's dying!" Brad waves him over. The healer sighs in relief when he sees both of them strong without any injuries. He walked towards the bed and saw the ghastly injury on the young woman.
