CHAPTER 8

George hesitates to enter his father's room. He knew how angry Robert could be. It was his fault. He should have placed more concern in monitoring Lara but he never thought she would try to run away. She didn't have anywhere to go. Unless she wants to go in search of her father.

He was dead though. Lara might not know that but he did. George knew his father had killed him. Everyone knew it. And now, due to his attitude towards her, she is gone. Dead or alive, he wasn't sure.

"I can hear you breathing and pacing outside, George. Come in or get out," Robert called out from his room. George stopped pacing and entered inside.

"Father," he said as soon as he entered. He glanced at Robert sitting on his bed with his eyes closed. He took a little step and stopped walking, giving some space between him and the bed. Robert was like a calming storm.

"Did you find her?"

"No Father but we found something else." George brought out the pieces of clothes having Lara's scent that they had found.
