Jonathan's grip on my arm loosened instantly at Eden's command. His face turned a shade paler, his eyes wide with surprise. "But Mr Eden," he stammered, turning to look at the man who had just intervened.

Eden stood at the chair, his expression unreadable. "You heard her, Jonathan. Let her go," he repeated, his voice calm but firm.

Jonathan released me immediately, stepping back as if my arm had suddenly turned into a hot iron rod. I rubbed my arm, the imprint of his fingers still visible on my skin.

"Don't even think about laying a hand on me again," I warned Jonathan, my voice resonating with newfound strength. A wave of anger surged within me, stoking the fires of my resolve.
