felt a wave of relief wash over me. It felt like I had just walked out of a lion's den alive, all my limbs still intact. I owed it all to Heather. If she hadn't shown up when she did, I would have been stuck in that basement with spiders and crawling insects. The mere thought sent shivers down my spine, and I shook my body to rid myself of the creepy feeling.

"What the hell was that? Would you like to explain it?" Heather's voice pulled me back from my thoughts. Her eyes were filled with confusion and concern, her brows furrowed in a frown.

I turned to face her, taking a deep breath before responding. "I'll explain everything, but I don't think it's safe to talk here. Shall we go get a coffee together?" I suggested, hoping to steer the conversation to a more private setting.
