The elevator doors slid open on the sixteenth floor, and as I stepped out, my eyes were immediately drawn to Eden's assistant. He was in tears for some unknown reason, and the people around him were offering him napkins and water in an attempt to console him.I quickly flagged down a girl who was passing by. "What happened to him? Why is he crying?" I asked, my gaze shifting between her and Arden's assistant.

The girl looked at me, her eyes filled with sympathy. "Mr. Eden fired him," she said, her voice barely above a whisper.

The news hit me like a ton of bricks. Eden had fired his assistant? But why? As I stood there, trying to process the information, It didn't take me long to figure out why. Eden's assistant had spotted me standing there. He stormed across the corridor towards me, his face a mask of fury. He was livid, and he didn't hesitate to vent his frustration on me.

"Because of you, I got fired!" he spat out, his voice echoing in the catching everyone attention in the corridor
