Chapter 14

Three days later, when Mahendra called Subhadra to inform her he wouldn't be able to make it to the shoot, which they had planned for his social media page, she was disappointed. But, when he told her he was sick, she was herself was worried sick.

So she had bought medicine, soups and a teddy bear, which she hoped would make him feel better.

She knocked on Mahendra's door, only to find it already opened.

"Mahendra?" She called out.

There was no response, so she walked further into his apartment. She had told him she would be coming. He of course was a stubborn mule, never wanting to accept anyone's help.

She found him sprawled out on the bed, wrapped up in blankets. She put the bag of groceries near the foot of the bed and approached him.

She pulled the blankets down a little and took a look at his face. His face looked ashen and his eyes were sunken in.

"Poor sweetheart."

"Mahendra. Wake up." She patted his cheeks for a good minute till he finally opened his eyes.
