CHAPTER 8 She's Married

  Daemon's POV

As I sifted through the dozens of files on my desk, I sighed as I heard the click of my office door signaling that someone had just entered.

"Hey, Sam, any news?" Taking in his scent, I asked with my head still focused on the files in front of me.

"You've been on that page for hours before I left, and now you're still reading the same page," Sam said as he plopped himself on the couch, sounding irritated.

  "What's bothering you?" He demanded.

I slammed the files shut and let out a tired sigh with my eyes shut. I didn't even realize that I had been on the same page for hours. What's wrong with me?

That Luna is fucking messing with my senses, her smile, her catchy eyebrow, and...

"Hey, bro..." Sam's deep voice pulled me out of my thoughts.

Letting out a sigh, I stared right at him, "Did you gather all the information concerning her?"

He went quiet for a while with his gaze fixed on me, scanning me thoughtfully, sighing I let out a puff breath... Here he goes again!

"Did you get all the information?" I asked again, ignoring his unsettling gaze.

"Why did you so much want to know everything about her?" I seemed taken aback by his question.

  "What do you mean?"

"I mean she's married, and you're supposed to be looking for your mate, bro. Definitely not gathering information about her," he blurted out.

I was taken unaware, his question hit me like a sharp claw. I was dumbfounded for a while before I eventually recovered from my shock... What is he saying? What the heck does her marriage have to do with me?

I can't be looking for a mate when I already have one!

"We agreed to form an ally with them, dickhead, remember," I narrowed my gaze at him.

"Oh!" He exclaimed, looking surprised, "How could I forget so soon,"

"Because you were busy leading your mind to a dirt road," I taunt, earning a chuckle from him.

"Poor me but is just that there was something with the way that you stared at her at the conference."

"So did you gather the information that I requested so far?" My voice cut in through the air, interrupting him from saying any further.

"Yeah," he noted, sensing my mood.

"She lost her parents at her teenage age," I nodded at him and motioned for him to keep on going.

"She is from Clawson pack," I stifled immediately the word that left his lips.

We all know about how strong the pack was and the painful tragedy that fell on them some few years ago, glazing my eyes around thoughtfully I reconnected it back to him for more answers.

"I think that since we have formed the ally that what we are supposed to be checking here is the pack and not their Luna," he discontinued, with his complaints again.

"Continue, Sam," I narrowed my gaze at him and spoke in a low, dangerous tone. My eyes were fierce and cold. Seeing my change in demeanor, he knew I was no longer in the mood for play.

Gulping instantly, he cleared his throat and continued, "According to my research, she is the only surviving heir of Alpha Clawson and the true mate of Kian, the Alpha of the Blackwood pack,"

I let out a small irritating growl at his last words, does he have to add those last statements though there is something with what he just said that the Luna was the only surviving heir from the Clawson lineage?

That means that she is going to be damn strong because that's a common trait that Clawson is mainly known for; their strong ability.

"So she is from Clawson," I repeat more like I was asking myself. A smile curled up my lips unknowingly at Sam's information.

"But I heard that after the demise of her parents was when she was claimed immediately by Kian as his mate,"

"Why did she allow him to mark her?" The question flew from my mouth unknowingly. After saying it was when I suddenly became aware of my question.

The way that Sam had his eyebrow questionably twitched at me, "They are mates so he is likely to have marked her to keep her out of other's reach," his gaze flickered at me at his last statement.

"I am sure that they are mates because she could have noticed if they weren't," he points out.

"Enough, Sam," I snapped, shutting him up.

"Anything else," I asked, sounding almost harsh.

"Nothing much, except that her name is Rhea," my breath caught in my throat as I allowed the name to replay in my head.

"Rhea," I mumbled, "What a beautiful name,"

Hearing a chuckle I snapped my head toward Sam, who is studying me with a raised brow. Clearing my throat, my frown deepened as I stared back at him.

"Get me all the information that you could," I dismissed him with a wave of my hands.

My hand found a way to my head, creating a pattern as I ran them through my hair repeatedly in frustration.

"That's strange. I still wanted to know why you decided to form an alliance with them. Because I know how you hate those fucked up shits," Sam's next words caught me off guard.

He is still here. I thought that I dismissed him, "Nothing much," I waved at him to leave while pointing at the door.

Nodding his head with his eyes peering at me suspiciously, he groaned and started walking toward the door, "I wonder what you are up to," he teased before walking away.

There is no other way to get to you Rhea if not through forming an alliance with you. Seeing the opportunity at its peak, there is no way that I am going to dodge that.

Don't worry, Sam, you will still know what I have under my sleeves so soon, I go for what I want and what is mine!!!
