CHAPTER 8

Maxine’s POV

“PARTICIPANTS, no one will leave the tent. Everyone go to bed because we have a lot of activities tomorrow,” said the voice from the megaphone, Miss Gillany.

It's past seven O’clock in the evening so it’s forbidden to leave the tent. Meghan and I were both covered in blankets because of the cold. I was wearing a dress with long sleeves but I could still feel the cold biting my body.

“Maxine,” Meghan said in a low voice. I have my back her. The surroundings are too quiet, only the chirping of birds and various kinds of insects can be heard.

“Hmmm,” I grunted in response. I closed my eyes.

“Is what Ma’am said true?” She is referring to what Miss Macalisang said earlier.

I didn’t bother to look at Meghan. I stayed back. I’m sleepy.

“Maybe.”

I jumped in shock when she suddenly squeezed behind me.

“Couldn’t there be something here, right?” She asked again in a whisper.

She is too exaggerated. Didn’t she hear what Ma’am said? In Europe.
