Chapter Nineteen

Lisa had arrived a while ago, and the kids were having the snacks she had prepared for them while Kiara was still seated, but this time lost in thoughts.

"Kiara," Lisa called for the second time, but there was no response.

Even when the door opened and Cass walked in, Kiara had not noticed it. "Kiara," Lisa yelled for the third time and she jerked in fright. "Oh my, I'm sorry Lisa, I was…"

"Hey, when did you get here?"

"A minute ago. Can't I talk to you outside?" Cass uttered.

Judging by his facial expression, Kiara could tell something was wrong so she nodded her head. She rose to her feet and trailed him out of the room. They got to a corner that wasn't so far from Zoey's room, and when they halted, Cass took Kiara by surprise when he pulled her into a warm embrace,
