Chapter twenty four

"You have been pacing to and fro the kitchen entrance for about ten minutes now Kiara," Lisa uttered and she turned to face Kiara who didn't give her a response.

Her eyes found the wall clock and she shook her head in negation,

"Hey, you have to tell me what the hell is hovering through your mind Kiara, I can't tell it's a lot."

Finally, Kiara spared her a glance,

"It's nothing, I'm fine." And responded,

"It's almost nine and when the kids wake up they don't find any…."

Suddenly they could both perceive the strong smell of something burning and Kiara turned back,

"Damn it, the chickens." She yelled and rushed into the kitchen immediately while Lisa trailed behind her.

"They're halfway burnt already," Lisa uttered as Kiara stared at them. Her eyes almost had tears in them because she had been busy worrying above Aiden and waiting for Cass to call that she had forgotten about the chicken in the oven
