Chapter 4

"f-fine... I won't resist." Kathilyn gave up and stopped resisting. The man withdrew his knife and kept it in his pocket. He continued to tie Kathilyn's hands with a rope and shoved her into their black van.

"Wait, where are you taking me?" Kathilyn asked, looking at each one of them as the driver drove the van away.

"Why are you kidnapping me?" She asked again, but the men kept quiet with a frown on their faces. It seems that they're uncomfortable with her talkative manner.

"Can you loosen the rope a little bit? It's too tight. And who uses ropes these days? You guys are old-fashioned." Kathilyn continued to ask, then one of the men shoved a piece of white clothing into her mouth to shut her up out of frustration.

"Can you be quiet for a while?" The man spoke and Kathilyn kept muffling with the cloth in her mouth, asking them to take it out, but they didn't listen and continued to stay quiet.

After a while, they finally stopped at an abandoned building that looked shabby. One of the men took the cloth out of Kathilyn's mouth and threw it onto the seat.

"What the fuck. Where do you get that cloth? Is that even clean?" Kathilyn looked at the man with a disgusted expression.

"Can you shut up for a second, you loudmouth?" The man said and dragged Kathilyn on her feet into the old building that seemed like an abandoned house.

The men led her into a familiar room scattered with debris, a familiar man was sitting on a worn-out sofa while crossing his legs. The four men set her down on a chair in front of the man on the sofa who seemed like their boss.

"You again? What do you want from me?!" Kathilyn resisted, trying to break free.

"Nothing much... Just answer my question." He answered.

"Look, a rat!" Kathilyn pointed at the floor and the man jumped, standing on the sofa in panic.

"You really are a scaredy cat. You act all tough, threatening me but you're scared of rats?" Kathilyn laughed hysterically, mocking the man. His expression changed from panic to a stern face when he realized how vulnerable he looked.

"Is it funny to you? You're not here to mock me." He warned her and looked at his men who were laughing quietly with a sharp and threatening stare. They all fell into silence in fear.

"Then why am I here? Let me go or I will fill this place up with rats." Kathilyn threatened him with an intimidating face but actually she was anxious and scared on the inside.

The man anxiously cleared his throat and adjusted his suit. Kathilyn couldn’t see how his face changed quickly from panicked to stern face behind his mask.

"Are you trying to intimidate me? Don't play with me, little girl. I'm tired of playing games with you. Now, tell me do you have anything to do with Liam Paris?" The man leaned closer and found a trail of blood on Kathilyn's collar.

"Wait..." He brushed the strands of her hair away to find a cut on the side of her neck.

"What is this? I told you to not leave even a single scar on her!" He turned around and yelled at his men. They all jolted in fear and one of them kneeled on one knee.

"I'm sorry, young master. It had to be done since she resisted so much." He explained.

"You're so stupid." He took out his gun and pointed at the man who kneeled before him and pulled the trigger and the bullet went past him only by a few cm. Everyone there was shocked, no one dared to say anything.

"If you make a mistake again, then your head will be the next target." They all looked at the wall where the bullet landed. The man on one knee only looked down, too scared to look at his young master who stood tall.

Kathilyn was stunned, her whole body was trembling in fear. This situation caused her to flashback when her parents died from being shot to death, the sound of the gun was as loud as she remembered.

When suddenly, another man wearing a white shirt barged into the room with his gun pointed towards the masked man.

"L-Liam! Please help me!" Kathilyn shouted, struggling to break free while crying.

"Police here. Drop your weapon this instance and raise your hands." Liam warned calmly. The masked man slowly put his handgun down and raised both of his hands.

"Let her go or I'll shoot you. Let her go now!" Liam shouted. The masked man turned to his men, gesturing for him to untie Kathilyn. They all obeyed and cut the rope around her hands, freeing her.

Out of relief, she ran towards Liam and hugged him tightly as he led her out of the abandoned building. As the masked men were about to chase after them, their young master raised his hand to stop them.

"Don't cause a scene. Let them be." The man turned around and looked out through the window seeing Kathilyn and Liam walking together to a car.

"You're alright, Kath? Did they hurt you?" Liam asked after they got into his car.

"I'm fine... They didn't do anything to me." Kathilyn answered, her hand moving towards her neck where her cut was to hide it from him. Liam then drove away as he was talking to Kathilyn.

"That's good to hear. Why would you even be involved with this?" Liam asked again, focusing on the car. He took a glance at her once every second to check up on her.

"I don't know. Things suddenly became this way." Kathilyn replied and leaned her head against the window.

"You can drop me here." She spoke after a long silence, Liam then stopped his car. She opened the door and walked out of the car.

"Thanks for saving me. I owe you." She said before closing the door and Liam then drove away.

A few hours passed and she was sitting on a bench, sipping on a warm coffee when suddenly she heard a notification come from her phone. She took it out and read the message she got.

'Come to my office now.' The message was from an unknown number that she had never talked to. A frown appeared on her face as she typed to reply to the message.

'Who are you?' she asked, sending the message.

'I'm your fiance.' The person replied, Kathilyn rolled her eyes feeling annoyed with that fake 'fiance' of hers.

'I'm not your fiance and where did you get my number, you damn stalker?" Kathilyn replied.

'If you're curious, then come right now.' Kathilyn then got up and walked toward the address that Isaac gave her.

"Maybe I should just ignore him..." Kathilyn turned off her phone and took a sip of her coffee.
