Chapter 3

I walked into the mansion no longer a maid but the house master's wife, Cameron and I had our marriage registered today he wanted it low-key without inviting anybody, not even his family. They wouldn't have come anyway, although against our union Gina had no choice but to accept me into her home, actually the house is Cameron's but he threatened to move out if she gave no peace and that was the last we heard of her rant.

The maids eyed me in envy as I passed them. I returned alone, Cameron said he had some unfinished business in the office and told me not to wait up, it hurt to have him do this on our wedding night when we should be on a honey moon instead but everything about our marriage was transactional I doubt he even sees me as his wife.

"How did a woman like you manage to snag my brother?" My path was blocked by Blair, she had her arms crossed and wore a mean girl look.

"Alcohol?" That was the only thing I could think of, perhaps if Cameron wasn't wasted that night he would've never looked my way.

She eyed me from head to toe and said, "of course you must have seduced him when he was drunk hoping to get pregnant."

Her words did not come to me as a shock, I expected this much. "Are you done? Step aside so I can pass." The only thing I wanted to do right now was cuddle with my babies. Cameron hired a nanny to watch over them in our absence, but there's something about leaving my babies with a stranger that makes me feel uneasy.

Blair trailed forward and slapped me square across the face in the blink of an eye. My cheek stung from the impact and a stray tear slid down, she retracted her fingers satisfied then leaned to whisper in my ears, "you might be his wife on paper but in this mansion you will forever remain a maid and don't you dare go talking to my brother, I can make him file for a divorce overnight. He doesn't trust you any way and he most certainly isn't in love with you."

It hurt to admit that she was right, Cameron made it clear that if it wasn't for the kids he'd have no business marrying me. "Here." She squeezed something in to my palm, "this is my wedding gift to you, when you're done crying go to the kitchen and fry me two eggs. Don't make me wait for too long." With that said she strolled off.

I brought the picture to my face, my heart broke when I saw Cameron sitting behind a pool wearing a huge grin with a half naked woman on his lap. I knew right away that it was a recent picture, tears streamed down my face liked a waterfall. Not minding the whispers and stares around I bawled my eyes out like a baby. When I was done I headed for the kitchen to fry two eggs as instructed. Nothing has changed even though we're legally bound together on paper, I'm still a maid during the day and a pornstar at night, I was stupid for thinking anything would.

I was fast asleep when Cameron suddenly barged staggering his way to the bed, one look at him and I could tell he was drunk. Anger flushed through my system, how could he do this on our wedding night? He climbed the bed and trailed his fingers to my waist but I pushed him away.

"You're drunk, you should sleep." I said in a firm tone and he chuckled.

"Wouldn't it be considered a crime to sleep when there's a beautiful woman lying next to me?"

I was completely lost for words, just like that my anger disappeared into the night. Never knew he considered me beautiful, they say a man becomes honest when he's drunk, it must be true. I decided to ask some questions.

"Apart from the fact that I'm beautiful, what else do you think of me?"

He appeared to ponder on it for some seconds then opened his mouth to speak, "you have really nice breasts."

I blushed red like a tomato. "Tell me more."

"The first day I saw you in that bar I thought to myself woah she must be a model, a hollywood actress or something."

I burst into a laughing fit, "now you're exaggerating."

He shook his head, "I'm not I swear, I was shocked when you showed up in front of me the next day as a maid."

My laughter died down quickly, "and what does that have to do with anything?"

"Everything." He said in a single breath and I knew he had a story to tell. "You see I had my first crush when I seventeen, she was a maid in our house. We used to sneak around because it was obvious my parents would never approve but we were going to go official when I finally took over the family business.." He suddenly paused and looked up with eyes wet like a puppy's.

Taking his hand in mine, "It's okay, you can tell me." It must be a painful memory seeing as he was at the brink of tears.

"She cheated on me with my father and even went as far as eloping with him." Immediately he said that I embraced him, in return he held me tightly.

"You're all the same," he cried, "the moment I become nice to you, you turn around and stab me in the back, you pretend to be poor and miserable but everything you do has a purpose, I'd rather go after a woman who openly wants me for my money unlike pretenders like you."

I understood where he was coming from a place of pain did not pick an offence instead I rubbed his back slowly. He pulled away from the hug staring into my eyes. "If you have any hopes of me falling in love with you I suggest you kil

l it because I will never love a maid again."
