AXIOS'S POV

I had cried my eyes out at the pack clinic, begging Mira to please come back to me. I had waited for more than half of my life to finally meet my mate, and just a few months later, the cold gripping hand of death snatched her away.

"Alpha Axios, please take heart," I heard Maxim say from behind me.

I quickly jerked up from the floor grabbed him by the shirt and said, "Please do something, Maxim, anything; please, just wake her up, please,"

"Alpha Axios! " he called out and my hands slipped away and I slumped on the floor.

"I'm sorry, but I have done all I could," Maxim explained, but it was all for deaf ears. I was heartbroken and on the verge of going mad with grief.
