AXIOS'S POV8 months and two weeks after the coronation, I woke up early in the morning to an unexpected visitor. The counsel of Alphas had been summoned to an impromptu meeting, and I was to leave immediately. Rufus and his rogue wolves had attacked the Red Dawn Pack, one of the ancient packs, killing everyone in their path. We were summoned by the Lycan prince, Reagan, to discuss ways to put an end to Rufus before he destroys more packs. AXIOS'S POVI had cried my eyes out at the pack clinic, begging Mira to please come back to me. I had waited for more than half of my life to finally meet my mate, and just a few months later, the cold gripping hand of death snatched her away. AXIOS'S POVI was shocked to see myself on the ground, with scattered pieces of wood lying on the ground around me. I looked around, and I guess they dropped the coffin on the ground. I was surprised as I saw my Beta, Gaius, and the pack elders staring down at me. "Alpha!" Gaius called out with a hint of shock in his voice. I didn't say a word as I was still confused at seeing them. "They didn't possibly all die, and we got reunited in the afterlife," I murmured to myself in confusion. "Alpha!" I was in shock and unable to get off the chair when he was done with his story. I became ashamed of myself for ever thinking he was a monster. I stood up from the chair I had been sitting in all this while and moved close to him. It was a little dark in the room except for the lamp that was giving off light. Looking at the scar on his chest, I could feel my blood boiling, and a tear escaped my eyes. "Please don't cry," Axios said as he cupped my cheeks in his hand. Every shred of fear was swept away as the tears flowed helplessly. It was one of the saddest stories I have ever heard, and for some reason, my heart was in pain. I opened my eyes to a faintly lit room. My vision was a little blurry, and I tossed from one side of the bed to the other. When my vision became clear, I couldn't quite figure out where I was or why my head was aching. I was still lost in thought when images of me in that weird room flashed before my eyes. I suddenly became apprehensive when I finally remembered that I had fainted in that room. I turned to see a figure sitting on the couch. "I can't possibly still be inside the weird room," I silently asked myself. I looked away, scared as fuck, as I didn't want to make eye contact with whomever it was. "Someone must have found me." I tried convincing myself while looking around the room, scared to my bones. I don't know what I would do if I were still lying in that haunted room.
