Her name

As he fished out the bunch of house keys from his pants pocket, his fingers hit something as well. Slowly, he brought out the item alongside the bunch. His mobile phone. Standing by the balcony into the apartment, he transfered the keys to his right hand and initiated series of taps on the mobile, his left hand fiddling with the lock.

On getting the right spot in the keyhole, he pushed open the door and sauntered into the living room of the completely devoid five bedroom bungalow, his sharp eyes completely fixed on the screen of his phone. He began heading straight to his room but halted suddenly as he passed by the refrigerator which was near the entrance to the kitchen. Taking a few steps back, he opened the refrigerator and grabbed a bottle of water before initiating his former journey. Even though he hadn't had much to eat today, he only chose to consume a bottle of liquid...

He entered the room which was filled with posters of various music artistes and a large poster of his favorite basketball player. The room gave off the typical teenage boys room, except a more determined aura filled this one other than ordinary imaginary dreamland of teenagers.

Seated at the edge of the bed with a Galaxy designed sheet, he suddenly had a drift away from his gaze on the phone. His mind bottled something... Presently, he was on the Facebook app, but he thought of something huge. He could look up that intern's profile on the app and send a request to her. Maybe with an account different from his original. With that way, she definitely wouldn't be able to pinpoint him.

But... what was her name again?

Gee!, he face palmed himself. He hadn't taken note of her name all because of his glued gaze on her throughout the class. How was he going to get it now?

Henry!

He gleed in delight as he supposedly found his saving grace, sort of. And right now, he wasn't taking any chances. Without further ado, he was already in Henry's profile in the messaging app, typing up a message which wasn't at all long.

Before he hit the 'send' option, he read the message of clarification: [Hey, do you by any chance recollect the music intern's name?]

Satisfied that he had composed a well written text, he sent it to Henry before relaxing on the bed. He stared at the screen of the phone and waited patiently for the offline Henry. Five minutes passed before a green dot was revealed beside Henry's profile indicating he was online already. Soon after, three grey polka dots appeared as he was obviously typing his reply.

A 'ding' notification sound popped up on his phone before he sat up straight to delve into Henry's profile so as to properly read the message.

[What do you need it for?]

He read the annoying reply sent by Henry and scoffed before opening the text box to send a reply.

[It's none of your business... just tell me if you do.]

A reply from Henry was received shortly after.

[Hmmm... why do I feel you have a crush on the intern... Or is she the reason you joined the music class?] A 'curious' emoticon was attached at the end of the message.

Am I so obvious?, he wondered. He needed to avert Henry's mind from such thoughts, at least to save himself from being teased. He thought about what to send and eventually came up with something.

[Must you always be this inquisitive? Fine, I just need her name to ask you about something.]

[Well, sorry, but I don't think I remember her name.] came Henry's reply.

Immediately, he face palmed himself. Where did he get such a friend from? Exasperated, he hammered on the keyboard and sent a message to the jerk...

[Why didn't you mention that from the scratch? You're so annoying.]

A series of 'laughing' emoticon was sent before a content was eventually written by Henry.

[Don't be angry, baby...]

Baby?

[You're crazy!]

Immediately the message was sent, he exited the app and grabbed the bottle of water on the bed. He opened the lid of the bottle and gulped down half of the content.

With a sigh, his eyes scanned the room before his gaze landed on the big poster of the basketball star. He smiled. A determination suddenly filled him up. If his grades were going to hinder him from being like this man, then he was going to tackle them.

* * * * * *

At night, in the Alfred residence.

"You're kidding aren't you?" Mrs Alfred, dressed in a silver pajama robe, smiled as she asked Blue who was seated beside her on the large comfy sofa which she was occupying in the living room. The mother and daughter were having a bit of gist about what had happened in the school today.

"I'm serious, mom. If I hadn't seen it myself, maybe I wouldn't have believed it as well," Blue replied as she touched the hem of her pajama top.

"Seems I did a great job by giving birth to a beauty like you," Mrs Alfred suddenly touched Blue's hair, rubbing on it like she was playing with a little child's hair... except this was an adult's.

"Get your hands off my head mom!" Blue shook her head vigorously as she shoved her mom's hand off. "It's not like you had any other choice. Even if you decided not to give birth to me then, someone else would have done that,"

Mrs Alfred chuckled. "Who is more qualified to do that asides me... huhn? Nobody!"

Blue rolled her eyes. "Stop acting all sweet in front of me,"

"Of course, I am sweet." Mrs Alfred  challenged.

"You bet," Blue sarcastically replied.

"Meanie!"

Blue turned to look at her mom. She was surprised at her mom's childish attitude which she just portrayed in front of her. Mom? Mom! You're a forty-something-year-old woman! She screamed in her mind.

"Why are you staring at me that way?" Mrs Alfred questioned Blue's surprised gaze.

"It's nothing," Blue directed her gaze to the other side after replying.

"So, you've met any charmer yet?" Mrs Alfred suddenly threw a question which stunned Blue for a bit. Without turning to face her so as not to reveal her awkward expression, she replied with a question.

"What charmer?"

"Have you been so busy not to notice anyone?"

"I don't understand what you're talking about," Blue feigned ignorance.

"You're getting old sweety, and yet you haven't ever introduced a boyfriend to me. Tell me... when are you going to do that?"

A certain long dead emotion suddenly built up in Blue as she heard those words from her mom. It was a familiar feeling that she had struggled to bury in the past but it seems it was about to elude again. She controlled herself a little so as not to explode right in front of her mom.

"Can you please leave me, mom," Her voice cracked a little but luckily Mrs Alfred didn't notice it as she wanted to ask something else.

"Are you planning to live here for eternity?"

"Do you want me to leave? If you want, I could—"

"Shut up, that's not what I mean," Mrs Alfred cut her off. "Why will I even think of such?"

Blue revealed a smile. "Then let's forget about me having a boyfriend. When it's time, I will,"

Mrs Alfred sighed and went silent for a minute. Thinking she wasn't going to bring the topic up again, she suddenly asked, "When?"

Blue immediately stood up. If this wasn't her mother, she wondered what she would have said. "That's it." She let out and began heading up the stairs.

"Aren't there any simple charmer in the school you train?" Mrs Alfred's voice came out just as Blue got to the entrance of the room. She had just opened the door to the room.

"Good Night mom!" Blue yelled out and slammed the door as she entered into the room.
