Chapter 48. What's the matter with Fay?

Jim swallowed. He wasn't sure that once he said it, Cade Goldwin would forgive him.

"Sir, will you spare us if I tell you who he is?" Jim said pleadingly.

"Will he also let you live if you get out of here safely?"

Jim didn't know what to say. He was all wrong.

"Miss Haines," he said in a choked voice. His throat felt dry and sore.
