Whether Chase heard me or not, he certainly didn't acknowledge it. He pulled me out of the car and hoisted me over his shoulder as I desperately tried to escape.

"Chase!" I exclaimed, thumping his back and shouting profanities. "Let me go, you bastard!"

"Do you want to do this the hard way?" he muttered.

My face flushed as I felt his hand hovering over my buttocks.

"You're taking me against my will. You're abducting me and making completely inappropriate advances!"

Chase set me down, and I narrowed my eyes at him. He shrugged, moving closer.

His hand gripped my chin, and I scoffed. "I don't know why you brought me here, but you should know I have the right to file an assault case against you!"

"What if I told them you're my wife? Would that change anything?" Chase asked, a mischievous glint dancing in his eyes.

A gasp echoed through the hall, and I widened my eyes as I noticed eight pairs of unfamiliar eyes fixated on us.

Eight pairs of eyes that I had completely overlooked.
