Chapter 1-reunion

Natash's POV

After two years of hiding, we met again in this situation, and I realized that I was still nervous. My hands trembled uncontrollably, and in order to suppress this trembling, I could only clench my fists tightly.

It took almost all the courage and strength I had gathered throughout my life to face Jaclyn Dills, my husband, or should I say, my ex-husband.

After all, two years ago, I had already left a signed divorce agreement for him, the man I had secretly loved for nearly a decade.

Our marriage, which lasted only a year, ended in desolation, and I should have known that he would never truly belong to me. Unfortunately, I understood this too late.

A year of marriage had worn away all my hopes, and I felt truly foolish. But facing him now, besides the nervousness, there was an unexplainable fear deep within me.

Besides the fear, there were threads of constant yearning in the depths of my heart. I still thought about him, couldn't let go, couldn't move on.

Jaclyn Dills had always been elegant, as if he were a noble from the medieval era of England. That air of aristocracy exuded from deep within him, creating a sense of aloofness.

Even after secretly loving him for ten years and being his luna for a year, I still felt like an outsider.

Jaclyn Dills was an alpha who had gone through rigorous trials within the pack, and every girl dreamed of becoming his luna.

Despite being a fierce snow mountain white wolf, he was incredibly handsome. It didn't seem appropriate to describe a man as 'beautiful,' but I couldn't think of any other words.

In fact, throughout the ten years of secretly loving him, I had always felt inferior. In his presence, I constantly felt too ordinary, almost like his sidekick.

I never imagined becoming his luna, and I never thought he would accept my wolf.

Although he's very handsome, he doesn't give off a soft or gentle vibe, he's very manly and domineering.

In private, when he sheds the elegant exterior, he's more like a dominant jackal, especially in bed, he doesn't love me at all.

I can clearly feel that what he seeks in me is a pure release, devoid of any trace of love.

It's as if he's not looking for a luna appointed by the moon goddess, but just an outlet for his desires. Sometimes, I feel like I'm more like a prostitute, very cheap and readily available, the kind that offers herself willingly.

I'm well aware that the only reason he accepted my wolf is because of the pack's pressure, and also because I have some use to him. It's a very cruel reality, far from the romantic love I had in my mind, far from it.

Annelie said I'm hopelessly naive and gullible, for believing in the existence of love in this world.

Even if it does exist, it's not meant for alpha and luna like us, who are bound together because of the pack. If there was any hope left in my heart before, I should be completely awakened now.

'Natash, this is Mr. Dills. Our business has benefited greatly from Mr. Dills's assistance in reaching our destination smoothly. Come on, toast Mr. Dills a drink, and we'll have many more opportunities for cooperation in the future. Mr. Dills, this is Natash, our company's assistant. Please take care of her in the future.”

Jaclyn's POV

The sharpness in my gaze disappeared in an instant.

She had finally appeared, but it was in such circumstances. I gritted my teeth and swallowed my displeasure.

I glided lightly past Natash Yael, and to my annoyance, I noticed that she was doing quite well for herself.

You could even say she was doing better, seemingly having gained some weight.

Compared to her previously thin and frail appearance, she now had a touch of charm.

Honestly, marrying her as my luna was just going with the flow. After all, as I reached the right age and passed the alpha trials smoothly, the elders thought her pack's influence was substantial enough.

The arrangements were made, so we got married.

Having multiple lunas made no difference to me; I wasn't a benevolent man, especially since I believed that if something exists, it should be used. If she was marrying me, I wasn't going to hold back.

I took her the same night, and her response still remains fresh in my memory.

Beads of sweat formed on her young and pained forehead, but she held onto me tightly, biting her lip.

Muffled moans escaped her lips and entered my ears, giving me a sense of sadistic pleasure.

I never expected that the eldest daughter of a pack would still be a virgin.

Despite her inexperience and delicate body, her lack of skillful response didn't prevent me from finding satisfaction.

Afterward, she curled up in my arms like a small rabbit—so obedient and cute.

However, it was this seemingly adorable rabbit that, after leaving behind a divorce agreement, vanished without a trace.

As I gradually became serious and started to care, I couldn't help but grit my teeth.

To this day, I still haven't figured out the reasons behind her disappearance.

I don't believe it was due to my extramarital affairs, which I had already settled later on. I just wanted to lead a peaceful life with my little rabbit.

Unfortunately, the peaceful days didn't last long.

My little rabbit ran away, and two years later, she suddenly appeared in such a setting, which made me itch with anger.

My gaze flickered, and I gracefully raised the glass in my hand:

'Mrs. Yael, such a rare surname, and a beautiful person. Allow me to toast first.' After saying that, I raised my glass and downed the drink. After finishing the drink, I held the empty glass and fixed my gaze on her.

Natash Yael's face turned somewhat pale. She rarely attended such social events, and this time she was clearly forced into it by her boss.

As the assistant responsible for finance, she was pulled into it because the secretary was on leave. But the sight of the glass made her feel a bit uneasy.
