Learning the Truth

Every day, I practiced and trained. When I wasn’t working with my magic, I exercised or danced. I needed to keep my body and mind vital when it came time to escape. Every day that passed, I could feel myself joining with my magic more. At first, I thought it was just about connection. But after an outburst of anger manifested into flames that turned the curtains to ashes, I realized it was more of an extension of me. My magic felt what I felt and did what I wanted to do. I was angry when I scorched the curtains and walls. My father had come back in to try and force me to shift. He knew I was bluffing, but I wouldn’t budge. He became eerily quiet before walking out again. That was a couple of days ago.
