The Thug

Before I could finish getting dressed, I glanced at the clock and realized I was running late. Immediately, panic surged through me as I rushed to complete my morning routine. I quickly rushed to the kitchen to make my usual morning coffee, but mom already had it done, I was so glad, that I took it and gulped it, I had no time to sip and enjoy it, coming out, I found my mom in the living room, her gaze fixed on me in a rather unsettling way. It was as though she had been lost in some distant thoughts.

"Mom!" I called her, and she jumped back from wherever dream world she was in.

"Baby girl, you are done already," she said then looked at the clock. "Oh, it seems someone is already late," she said and I smiled nervously, I kissed her on the cheek and took the lunch she had prepared for me. I didn't like her packing up lunch for me anymore; it felt embarrassing for someone my age, but I couldn't bear to hurt her feelings. Yeah, not taking the food she packed for me w
