THE SLAVE’S RIGHTFUL OWNER

The voice sounded familiar to everyone, but was it possible for the Prince to be here? He was even participating in the bid.

The auctioneer squinted his eyes to get a better view of who was speaking and it was indeed the Prince.

“And now esteemed guest, it is an honor to announce the presence of a very distinguished guest.” The auctioneer beamed with pride. “In attendance today is no other than the Crown Prince himself, Prince Damien Von Krastein.”

The audience gasped in shock, it indeed was him, Damien liked the attention he got, and it also meant that everyone would lose interest in the bidding especially since their Prince wants her, everyone except Sebastian.

“Any more bidders? A prize that interest the Crown Prince himself is sure worth more than a hundred gold coins.” The auctioneer was very good, Damien would give him that, because everyone would want bragging rights that they got what the Prince wanted, but what they didn’t know was that he wasn’t about to give up on this girl because he always gets what he wants.

Damian’s eyes connects with Sebastian who looked as if he was about to blow up, this was the most beautiful sight Damien had seen in centuries.

“One hundred and one gold coins.” Screamed Sebastian, they were about to break a mold because the highest amount spent on a slave was two hundred gold coins, Sebastian’s bid was a challenge to

Damien who didn’t even bother reply because the crowd had already gone haywire, everyone was bidding.

“One hundred and twenty three gold coins.”

“One hundred and twenty four gold and ten silver coins.”

“One hundred and twenty six gold coins.”

Damien had lost count of the bidding till it got to “One hundred and thirty gold coins.” And he decided it was about time to end it.

“One thousand gold coins” Yet again he had managed to capture the attention of everyone and everything in the room, when the Prince does things, he does them in a big way.

“SOLD TO THE CROWN PRINCE!” The auctioneer screamed out excitedly happy because he had never gotten this amount of money from a bid ever before.

Everyone looked at Damien as if he had grown a second head, was a human worth one thousand gold coins? That was a lot of money and it just showed people that the royals have enough money to spare.

“If I may ask your highness, what do you intend to do with this human.” The old scrawny lord asked the Prince with shaky voice; barely even sparing the lord a glance, Prince Damien curled his lips into a sinister smirk as his gaze was fully fixed on Lucy. “That is for me to know and for you to never find out.”

He replied sending a chill along the old vampire’s spine as he walked up to claim his prize.

“Congratulations, Your highness” The crowd made way for the Prince as he ascended the stairway. He stared at the violet eyed beauty before him and said to the auctioneer “I hope all arrangements has been made, I would like to take what rightfully belongs to me” The auctioneer gulped loudly “O-of course your highness, we just need your signature on some papers and she’s good as yours” the auctioneer scurried of to get the legal papers.

After signing all the papers Damien took Lucy by her hand towards the except, he was approached by a not so wanted guest.

“Your Highness” Duke Sebastian called. “I had no idea you were here, I thought you didn’t like this part of the kingdom”

“I don’t but it is my duty isn’t it, unlike someone who goes around looking for new prey”

“Ah, classic Prince Damien.” Duke Sebastian said as he was walking even closer to the Prince. “Always so very eager to take away what rightfully belongs to others.” There was bitterness in his voice as the Prince turned to look at him, a confrontation with Sebastian was very much expected but it was not how he planned on spending the rest of the day.

“I take only what rightfully belongs to me.” The Prince said as his jaw tightened in anger, there was a warning in his voice as Lucy cowered behind him also sensing a confrontation coming up.

“Is that so?” Teased the duke as he was fueled with malice having lost yet another girl to the Prince. “Or is it that you simply cannot stand to see me succeed where you have failed so you use your royal privileges to continually get in my way.”

The Prince’s hands curled up in anger as he chuckled at Sebastian’s stupidity, he was always trying to make everything about him forgetting he was just a drop of water in a bucket. “You speak nonsense.”

Said the Prince in anger as he was trying not to lose his composure in front of the girl. “I won fair and square and you know it, why couldn’t you bid higher than the one thousand gold coins?”

“You knew I made payment for this girl before you made your bid just as how you knew I was courting

Lady Claudia.” A smile formed on the Prince’s lips as he finally understood what this was all about.

“Say what you want Sebastian but the Lady obviously made her choice, the same way I won fair and

square.” The Prince held the girl by her hands as they turned around leaving the Duke to drown in its misery as the glared at them wondering how he would get back at the Prince.

“You are safe now.” He quietly said to the girl. “I promise that no harm will ever come to you again as long as you are mine.”

She smiled as she released a sigh of relief fully trusting his words, maybe her life in the run had finally come to an end, or maybe it hasn’t…
