THE SLAVE'S BLOOD

The Prince was taken aback. “You.” He said only to his hearing, everyone was watching their interaction trying to see his next course of action.

“Where did you say you found her?” He asked the guards again.

“The east, your highness.”

“Where exactly?”

“She was with other humans on their way to the north maybe trying to locate the revolution and seek refuge.” How did a human girl find her way to his dreams, for months he had been plagued with the same dream, of a girl with long white hair and deep violet eyes, but before he could reach her, he would have already woken up with only memories of her eyes.

Violet eyes weren’t common among humans and vampires alike, so it shocked him seeing her sharp violet eyes.

And then again his compelling didn’t work on her, it worked on true full blooded vampires, so why not on a weak human girl

“Have you confirmed if she is human yet?” he asked the guards who looked at him as if he had grown two heads.

“You mean drank from her? They asked, they didn’t know what to answer, guards weren’t allowed to  drink from slaves, but they weren’t sure if they were supposed to do so in this case.

“No your highness, you know it’s prohibited.” He looked at the girl then at the guards, so there was a slight possibility she wasn’t human.

“And I know the rules do not apply to the royal family, does it?”

Lucy gasped, she knew she was human, and she had never had a vampire drink from her before, thoughts flooded her mind as she tried to wonder why he doubted her humanity and at the same time she didn’t want him to drink from her.

For the first time since he came into the cell, he was able to sense something from the girl, fear, she was scared and it was very much obvious.

“My lord… She has never been used before.” The guard tried to plead but it fell unto deaf ears.

He moved close to her, canceling the space between them, he knelt down gently lifting her head and brushing a few rouge strands of her away from her face.

She was shaking, but she knew vampires feast on fear, especially powerful vampires like the man before her, so she tried to maintain her cool and closed her eyes shut.

Her skin was pale and her hair white as snow, she was breathing hard as he noticed her very red and plump lips even though they were chapped and peeling off, though in dirty cloths, he knew she does look beautiful when vulnerable.

“Look at me.” He ordered with an almost calm voice, she knew she couldn’t, how could she look at a monster dead in the eyes? But there was something about his command that she couldn’t resist obeying, so she fought that feeling as hard as she could.

His hands gently cupped her face lifting it up so she could see him. “Open your eyes.” The command was direct and clear, and this time she did just that.

She found herself staring at the piercing gaze of the vampire Prince, his touch was surprisingly gentle in contrast to the guards and how other humans had talk about vampires, and it wasn’t one she expected from a vampire or a vampire Prince nonetheless.

“Why are you afraid?” The vampire Prince asked, his voice was low and soothing as she took some minutes to digest the question, why wouldn’t she be scared? Vampires are blood thirsty violent monsters, but this one seemed different, he had saved her after all.

She found herself staring deeper into his eyes, locked into his electric blue eyes, but she couldn’t speak, she found herself tying to form words but it were as if her tongue was made of lead, she couldn’t remember the last time she had spoken, as even the sound of her own voice in her head sound foreign as if it belonged to someone else.

“You haven’t spoken in a long time have you?” asked the Prince as her eyes filled with tears, she shook her head in response to his question. “Let me help you.” He said with a pause, “Let me into your head.”

She confusingly stared at him, not understanding what he was saying as he on the other hand looked deathly serious.

“I’m going to suck from you now, do you understand?” Her two seconds of comfort was immediately replaced with fear as she started shaking, she knew what that meant and how painfully they had made it out to be, she violently shook her head as the Prince tried to hold onto her.

His intensions confused her, why was he asking when he could hold her down and take her blood. She knew vampires cannot be trusted and she wasn’t about to let her guards down for one, especially a Prince.

“It’s alright to be afraid, I won’t cause you pain… yet.” Though his voice was reassuring, she found it hard to believe that he wouldn’t, but she found herself nodding in agreement not believing that she was trusting the vampire Prince.

He gently lifted her up, pulling her even closer to him, one of his hands found its way to her hair as he tossed it aside to keep her neck completely bare to him, her heart race was skyrocketing even though

his movements were nothing but soothing.

“I won’t hurt you remember?” She found herself nodding, this man hadn’t given her any reason to distrust him, and he did save her after all.

His tongue stroke her neck, licking on a particular spot as she found herself liking the weird sensation, was a bite meant to be this calming?

In one quick movement, she felt his fangs enter into her as her eyes closed shut, the slight pain soon evaporated as she wondered how it felt so good.

She felt his cold body getting warmed up by her blood as she felt him growling on her skin, making her shiver.

“More.” He grunted and she wasn’t even complaining, he gave a hard pull on her neck as his hands moved to her shoulders gently rubbing on it, her mind was racing, she had heard about the horrors of a vampire drinking but it wasn’t like that at all.

He retracted his fangs from her skin as he moved his tongue where his fangs had been sealing the injury.

“You don’t taste like a human.”
