Chapter 4 - Please save me, Dad

Sarah

My mom opened the door for me and I fell into her arms. Closing my eyes became an impossible task for me when I saw her eyes.

They were red from crying. She had been crying since I left home late this evening.

“Mommy,” I sobbed quietly.

“Sarah,” she sniffed and wiped her tears. “What happened? Why are you bruised all over your body?”

“He sent me away. He won’t let me talk to him,” I managed to say in between my crying.

“That’s what you get for being disobedient and getting pregnant for who you are not supposed to sleep with. We have rules and the rules have their reasons!” My dad yelled.

“Honey, please! She is bleeding, this is not the time to blame her. I don’t want her to die. Please.” My mom begged in despair.

“She’s not coming into this house.” My dad insisted, his voice was loud and clear.

“Why is dad doing this to me? I feel like I am going to die. Can he not feel that I am helpless right now? I have not left home for up to twenty four hours and look at the time I have been injured.” Sarah said as tears flowed freely from her eyes.

“Don’t listen to him, he is saying it out of anger, you know how much he loves you.”

“This doesn't seem like he loves me mom, he is treating me like a stranger.”

“Look, Sarah. Ignore your dad, you are losing so much blood.” My mom sniffed. “Let’s do this first, just shift so you can stay warm for tonight so you can heal up quickly and the babies will stay safe. I will see if I can convince your dad before the day breaks.”

The panic in my mom’s words made more tears gush out of my eyes. We both knew that she could barely do anything to change my dad’s mind. Her suggestion of asking me to shift was a good one but I just can’t.

“Mom, I can’t. I am so weak right now. I am so afraid that I cannot shift into my wolf at this moment.” I said truthfully.

“You have to do it, please, the bleeding has to stop for the twins to survive.” my mom’s eyes didn’t leave mine.

No response came from me. The pain and agony I am feeling right now is unbearable.

“I can’t watch you bleed to death. I can’t bear it if you die with two kids in you. Just shift, please,”

I took a deep breath and wiped my tears, without shedding my clothes off me, I let my shape shifter take over.

"Is this whom you want me to take in?" My dad thundered, making my eyes fling open.

What was my offence again? Why is he yelling again? My vision was blurry but I was aware of everything going on.

He was standing before me and my mom. "Look how weak she has become just because she is carrying the rogue's child."

Weak? I took a look at myself in the small  puddle of water beside me. My beautiful big wolf had been reduced to a small size.

I couldn't not believe my eyes.

My mom left my side and stood to my dad, "Whose fault is it that she's like this?" She barked at him.

"If you had kept her pregnancy a secret, would she have been in this state? I told you to be soft when it came to our daughter. Why do you have to do this to her?” My mom yelled.

This was the first time she was talking back to my dad on my behalf.

“You are supporting her? She slept with a mere rogue when she was under your care and you think she deserves mercy?” My dad fired at my mom. “If you had looked after her properly, she would not be in this state either. It is your fault.”

“I sure raised a fine ass woman, stronger and better than the young wolves in this pack when the males cannot compete with her. What's wrong with taking her in and raising her kids? They are our grandchildren, Honey.”

“If she is strong enough, why is her wolf so tiny? Such a disgrace,” he spat. “Do you want them to grow up and kill you? If you want them then you can follow her, none of you will stay back in my house!” my dad said then he stormed back into the house.

“After all my warnings! She had the guts to sleep with a rogue?” he said from the house.

My mom came back to my side and hugged me. “Let’s leave him. I will watch over you and the kids, I can't leave you alone in this condition.”

Due to the effect of her warmth when she hugged me, I was able to shift to my normal form. I hugged her tightly.

“I can’t drag you into this mom, dad won’t let you go with me, he knows how frail you can be when you are far away from him.” I managed to say.

“No, I want to come with you Sarah, he will have to come  after us that way.’ my mom insisted. She looked so worried but I knew she could not survive a day without my dad.

Unlike me, my mate has rejected me so I can stay apart from him. My mom’s bond with my dad would affect her if she left.

“I Will survive this and stay in touch, if you come with me, you might die because you have never left dad’s side since you bonded together.”

“Listen to her,’ My dad yelled from inside. “She is wise enough to know that you will be in danger if you follow her.”

Then he came outside with some clothes and cash, then he threw them at me. You will survive with the rogues, “That is the most I can do for you as a father. Go and live with the rogues that made you like this, you will see what they are like.” He pulled my mom with him and went inside.
