Soon the days crept away faster than the speed of light. The leaves amidst the forest of Rainford began changing their hues and soon after each mountain was naturally embellished with their new red-lavatic leaves.

The blessed day of mate ball finally approached in the usual manner like other years on that windy evening. All the packs resided over the Rainford Zone had come to one conclusive decision that they would hold this traditional fiesta night at one certain place. After re-evaluating everyone's benefits, they reckoned that it would be the properest idea to celebrate their mating ceremony in the stone-sculptured villa over G-Mountain. The villa was entirely made of stones with an outdoor view of the accessible grassy meadow of G-Mountain. The other plausible reason for preferring this place was that the moon goddess always showers her blessing by her silvery gleam over the top of this mountain.

Soon, the eve of mate-ball was inaugurated as hundreds of unmated teenagers began climbing up over the mountain with excitement. They all were nicely dressed up in this wishful thinking that this evening they would be fortunate enough to find their soulmate. A mate was the most integral part of a wolf's destiny which couldn't be taken clumsily. Today, the villa over G-Mountain seemed exceedingly lively after getting embellished pleasingly with white lily flowers. The warm moonlight sprawling over the roof made its beauty more enchanting. The entire villa was crammed with chatter and laughter that waved far away from the mountain.

" Aahh.. Walk faster, Vi. You are making us late.", Brian urged impatiently while pestering the girl behind him to walk faster. Viona just rolled her eyes at her brother's impatient behavior. It had been more than one decade since he was eagerly joining in this eve to find out his soul mate but never helped so far. At first, she truly didn't want to join in this fiesta but Brian's emotional words touched her heart. In the end, she had to follow this enthusiastic man over G-Mountain reluctantly.

Viona sighed helplessly for one last time while tugging down her silver gown neatly and trailed behind him closely as they arrived upstairs. After glancing back and forth, she had to concede one fact that the villa was flawlessly decorated tonight which was now enthralling enough to create an appeal to the visitors.

Diverting her contemplation from the exterior, she looked ahead and saw that Brian was ambling inside. As soon as her brother made his appearance, the teenager heirs from several packs whistled playfully and one of them chirped,

" There..there..there.Our handsome Alpha. Come on bro..Why are you so.."

The blond-haired boy halted between his utterances abruptly once his eyes fell on Viona standing behind Brian. They exchanged expressive glances between them and returned to their dismal mood as if she just spoiled their happy moment. That made Viona very awkward as she sighed softly and struggled to make a smile. She realized that her appearance already had created a lot of queries and inquisitiveness between them. To be honest, she didn't prefer to be in the limelight but it was inevitable for her to hide away from others because of her bold and strong composure among packs.

Brian who noticed his friend's uncomfortable condition quickly spoke first to dismiss this awkwardness. He skipped the blond-haired boy and plopped down beside his side announcing,

" Come on boys, who missed me? Look, I have brought my sister to cheer up her mood. Don't scare her off. Come on, welcome her on this eve. She has joined in this ball after ages."

Viona smiled at them faintly. The teenagers were relieved after listening to Brian's cheering voice and greeted Viona with a sincere smile. On the contrary, Viona was in relief since the boys accepted her appearance calmly.

The boys resumed chatting with Brian and offered a seat to Viona which she denied politely. She didn't wish to become the third wheel among their friend circle and excused herself from there.

After fetching a glass of red wine from the bartender, she decided to find a serene place for herself and headed towards the spacious corridor of that villa unaware of her own tragic fate that was knocking on the door.

Meanwhile, the unmated Alphas from several packs began to make their delighted appearance at the yearly mate ball. Each one of them had indeed stunning features that enticed so many unmated girls from the gathering. Unfortunately, no matter how many enticements they could sense for them, at the end of the time they were preordained to be left alone with their own mate.

Damien wasn't unfamiliar with the gathering. He had been constantly joining in this ball in the hope that his pack would find out his Luna soon. Unfortunately, his mate was nowhere to be seen in these years. His pack members were nudging him so hard to find his mate that at one certain moment, he really wished to follow the path of choosing a mate. Still, he deterred himself for the sake of his destined mate.

Damien kept ascending through the stairs with a gloomy face as his beta, Celeb closely trailed him and could sense the ablaze fury of his Alpha. He gulped hard and yearned to run away from him. Unfortunately, he was vowed to follow his Alpha till the demise.

After crossing two stairs, Damien growled tugging his blue coat which was glistening over his sturdy body like a crafted jewel,

" Just one task Caleb! I asked you to locate a woman from our packs. Yet you couldn't do it. Do you deserve to be called as my loyal assistant, Celeb?"

Celeb instantly shook his head to deny it and badly wished to spit out the truth as his art was so terrible that he couldn't figure out the exact person. He made a queue of possibilities but no one had conceded about meeting with their Alpha.

After all, who would dare to hunt in their area without their order?

But he had to swallow back those true words for the sake of his beloved life and attempted to cajole Damien softly,

" Alpha, don't get mad at me. Moreover, today is mate ball. Who knows that you may find out your mate tonight? Besides, you just met that girl once and didn't know anything about her. How could you expect her to be your Luna without even knowing her background? "

Damien halted in his track abruptly and shot a death glare at the bold man behind him. He barked through his gritted teeth,

" Do you think that I, Damien care about her background? I only need her. If somehow I find my mate tonight and lose that girl, you will confront all the consequences. Get ready! "

Celeb was dumbfounded as he really just wished to die. He didn't even do anything wrong yet he would confront the punishments. Forget about everything! He must locate that damn girl who wavered their Alpha's heart.

After delivering his harsh command, Damien proceeded forward before ambling into the middle of a group of drunkard men. His presence was so intimidating that it quitely compelled the other drunkard Alphas to shrink at a corner. His phoenix eyes swiped over the drunk crowd before halting over a familiar figure who was drunk pretty badly.

Hardin, his friend and fellow Alpha from Crystal Pack was now blurbing on his wine repeatedly thus failed to notice Damien's presence. As soon as their eyes met, Hardin jumped off from his spot and moved toward Damien staggering slightly whilst the others wriggled themselves at a corner in terror.

Hardin was his only closest friend among the packs thus he behaved with him quite friendly than others. Hardin derided after punching on Damien's chest,

" Hey, big boy! Why did you take so long? See, I got so many hot chicks today."

He grumbled before winking at a bunch of teenage girls who profusely blushed at Hardin. Damien grunted before nudging his buddy off from his arms,

" You are being too boisterous! Why don't you try to find a place and sober up first? Don't humiliate your pack in front of others."

Damien admonished his drunk friend and beckoned at Celeb to help Hardin for sitting down. Celeb instantly complied his order and moved to grab Hardin who was still staggering on his feet.

Shaking his head helplessly, Damien strode towards the bartender completely ignoring the frightened gazes around him. He knew that they feared him like hell which he didn't even care about for a moment. His thoughts were still clouded with that mysterious woman's image. He desired to find something effective to divert his mind from her vision as soon as possible.

He snatched one full glass of wine from the bartender and began sipping from it quitely. As Hardin created a massive commotion over shattering a flower vase, Damien was instantly distracted from his waving thoughts and hastily glared at Celeb who was still battling to handle Hardin.

Just at the moment, he intended to yank that drunk man in his grip harshly, he heard a delicate tone like a soothing breeze from midnight behind his back,

" Excuse me, can I get another drink?"

His breathing hitched as a frantic impulse of confronting the person came across his mind.

Why did he sense a certain familiarity?
