As I emerged from the swirling depths of the portal, my heart pounded in my chest with a mixture of anticipation and dread. I thought I had died. It seemed almost too real because I was in the portal that was for the dead. How was I still feeling after all of this? I could feel my consciousness coming back to me slowly. I could feel my fingers move, my body trembling from the trauma it had just gone through and sensation filling my nerves.
