A new house

Catherine’s POV

“Mummy!” Leo's voice rang from behind us, as Alessandro and I walked to the parking lot.

I felt an immense swell of happiness within me as I spun towards the direction of his voice, and saw the twins running up to me.

Crouching, I opened my arms wide and grinned at them. “My babies.”

As they launched themselves into my arms, I pressed kisses to their respective foreheads, then inhaled lungfuls of their soft hair.

I had missed the soft smell of their baby shampoo.

“I missed you so much, my loves.” I said, rubbing circles on their back. “I'm so happy to see you again.”

“We missed you, mummy,” They chorused. “And daddy too.”

Only then did I remember that Alessandro was probably waiting for us.

Standing up, I darted him a sheepish smile, which he returned, with a fond head shake, as Liam and Leo ran to hug him.

“Welcome home, sir and ma,” Marco spoke from behind me. “I hope the journey wasn't too strenuous.”

“Thank you, and no, it wasn't,” I supplied.
