Charlie’s POV
I’m not even sure what made me do it, the sudden urge to run away from it all. Maybe it was the news that I was part vampire, or the fact that Alpha Zach is clearly in love with me but as I grab my suitcase, I purposely hit him with it as I walk by and go to his office. As much as I wanted to go home, right now I didn’t want to be alone.
Sinking down onto the rug, the heat from the fire warms my skin, Kayden had been right about it being much colder here and as much as I didn’t want to admit it, I didn’t have the right clothes for this weather.
As I sit staring into the fire, a blanket is draped over my shoulders and when I look up I find Alpha Zach smiling at me, he doesn't speak and heads to his desk, concentrating on the paperwork that was piled high.

Alpha Zach’s POV“She is missing? Like actually missing?”I nod my head“How?, I don’t understand, it’s a bit coincidental isn’t it. Charlie’s POV The realisation that the vampire was after me was just too much and the tears start streaming from my eyes. I couldn't help it, nor could I stop them and I turn to the only person that I know and bury my face into his shirt, my arms gripping my waist. I wouldn’t have normally but I just wanted to be held and thankfully Alpha Zach didn’t reject me. When I open my eyes, I’m confused at first and it takes a second for me to work out that I am back in my room and I sigh, this was becoming a weird habit and I really needed to stop falling asleep.
