She walks silently alongside me her fingers laced with my own. She doesn’t stumble or trip in the forest like she knows where she is going, but her fear was unmistakable. It exuded from her and even when I ask her she just tells me that everything is fine, but it wasn’t. Not only could I sense it coming from her, but I also felt her fear too and it wasn’t me that she was afraid of.

I find myself stood in front of the packhouse, not the place I was expecting to be and I must have stopped abruptly because Charlie asks me what’s happening.

“We are at the pack house?!”

I wasn’t questioning Charlie, I was questioning myself, I thought we were further away than this and closer to the hospital.

Charlie frowns at me “They built you a new packhouse?”

“They did”

She reaches her hand out and I guide her forward a little. As she holds her hand against the door she smiles but doesn’t
