Darlington's POV;
I awoke in my bedroom to a brand-new day beginning. Today is New Year's Day. I could hardly contain my excitement as I could not wait to go downstairs and tell my parents that I was determined to tie the knot with Jenna Colton this year. I have been in love with Jenna for five years now. Since Bruce was my best friend in school, I got to know her through her older brother. We both reside in the center of the city and took the same business course. Here, the Colton family was also prominent and well-off. Jenna has had success in her acting career. She has been the face of numerous brands. Even though I was aware that she had undergone numerous surgeries and operations to improve her appearance, I still adore her. I am incredibly in love with Jenna, and I am not sad I asked her to marry me last weekend. In addition to not responding to my post, my father has vanished from the internet since the announcement of my engagement to Jenna went viral. To ensure he would not see me posting about Jenna again, my father purposefully blocked me. I was told to quit posting about Jenna by my dad. However, Jenna is the woman I am in love with. How could I not share my life's passion on social media? I would be betraying her, by that logic. Jenna is my lifeblood and the reason I love her so much. I constantly tell her that I could not live without her, and I am aware that Jenna hesitated to accept my proposal ring. However, she was aware that my desire for us to settle down had always existed. After telling Jenna not to worry about my father, I promised to talk to him about accepting our marriage. Although Jenna had informed me that she was not ready for marriage just yet and that I would have to wait for her because she had a lot of work to do as a model, I reassured her that being my wife would not prevent her from pursuing her goals. I have supported her ever since we started dating, and I continue to do so now. I got out of bed and got ready to go downstairs to tell my dad that I was deciding to get married. My father hated Jenna and had told me to avoid her; perhaps I should tell her not to come near me ever again while we are together. Jenna was not able to visit my workspace and office, even though I would like her to. I sincerely mean everything I said and did when I told Jenna how much I loved her. I entered my personal space. My room was sufficiently large and roomy. More than three opulent beds could fit inside, and there would still be extra room. After taking a shower, I noticed that it was past nine in the morning. We celebrated a cross-over night at home on New Year's Eve, which is why I woke up late. My family and I were waiting to see the fireworks and the start of a new year last night. I am so excited to have a child soon. I want to marry Jenna and promise her that I will always be there for her, even though I know she was afraid of becoming pregnant for me. I retrieved a purple shirt and black pants from my closet and put them on. My short black hair is combed over my head. I allowed my hair to grow slightly because I prefer to keep it smooth. After I was done combing my hair, I put on my manly perfume to give me a fresh, New Year's Day-like scent. At last, I put on my black slippers and left my bedroom on the top floor of my father's massive estate. Our duplex house is a typical one. The house has eight rooms total, including a living room, kitchen, and guest rooms downstairs. My father was the one who planned his enormous mansion and gave the builders instructions. Jenna had informed me that she disliked coming to see me at my parents' house because she was aware of my father's disapproval of her. As Bruce did, I intend to purchase a new home and move out. However, at the time I disclosed to my mother my intention to purchase a house of my own. With a frown, my mother told me it was too soon for me to live alone. But my goal in life is to be self-sufficient. She said that when my father got married, they moved into my grandpa's rural home until my father saved up enough money to buy a house of his own in the city. As per my mother's advice, I should not leave my father's house until I have a child or two of my own. Nevertheless, Jenna took offense at this, so I made a vow to her that after we got married, I would buy her a house. My father was alone when I came downstairs and into the living room. Sitting on the black couch in the living room, he appeared to have not taken a bath despite wearing a white garment. As he opened a file in his hands, I came downstairs to say hello. "Good morning, Dad," I said, and my father glanced at me after pausing what he was reading. He removed his glasses, which were perched perfectly on his nose bridge. With a warm smile spreading across his face, he kept it inside the case and turned to face me. "Good morning, Darlington," he responded to my salutations. "Happy New Year." "Happy New Year to you, Dad. "Where is Mom?" My dad responded to my question by saying, "She is upstairs and still in her room." "You are aware that we slept in late last night." Sitting across from my father, I said, "I know, Dad." "Yes, Darlington. That brings to mind. Yesterday night, I wanted to tell you about this, but I decided not to rush things," my father said. "Daddy, what is it?" I asked, glancing at my father's face. "Your spouse, Amara Nicholas, is arriving in the city today and will be moving in with us," he said. "What?" With extreme disbelief, I exclaimed.Darlington's POV I got up from the black couch right away and gave my father a shocked look. "Dad, whose wife?" In an attempt to be certain, I asked my father one more time. This time, he got up and declared, "Darlington, I have told you that you cannot marry Jenna." "Because Amara is a well-mannered young lady and not a corrupt young woman like Jenna Colton, I married my best friend's daughter for you." "Dad. It is unbelievable that you would say this. It will be me, not you, who gets to marry Jenna!" "Why do you think you have the authority to dictate how I live my life and force a woman on me in order to get married?" "Darlington, that is enough! You cannot treat me disrespectfully in this house. You see what an old person sees from a sitting position; you cannot see it even if you climb the tallest tree. Jenna would not be a suitable wife for you because she is a dishonest person. Look at her with her body, do you believe she will want to become a parent and settle down with yo
Darlington's POV My father ascended the stairs and disappeared from our line of sight, leaving us behind. "Mum," I said, looking back at her as I tried to absorb the information my father had just given me about my upcoming marriage, processing it all like a signed contract. "Darlington, calm down." My mother said, "You will not marry any Amara Nicholas, not while I am here." My younger sister, Samara laughed aloud, which made me glare at her. "Samara, what is so funny?" She was asked by my mother before I could. "You are laughing shamelessly at your older brother, right?" Mom ask. "Just because your father did not marry you off like that, right?" "Mother, no." Samara coughed and said, "Mom, I am sorry," as our mother gave her a disapproving look. "However, this is hilarious. How is it that Father married Darlington without his knowledge or consent, and now that he is married, his wife is on her way here? Laugh out loud!" "Samara!!" Samara ran ahead to the living room's
Darlington's POV; I got up from the dining chair and started to leave our family's home after finishing my breakfast with my mother and sister. "Darlington, where are you heading next?" With a worried expression, my mother questioned me. "Mom, I am just going out; I will be back soon," I reassured her. "All right, my son."However, do you believe that keeping Jenna in the dark is the best course of action? Let me take care of things for you; she might overreact. Later on, you can inform her about your father's intention to force you into wedlocking a destitute person." My sigh was deep. "Okay, mother. For now, I feel like leaving this house, but I will not tell Jenna about it." With a hint of frustration, I said, "I do not want to be here when that woman arrives." "That is alright." My mother reassured me, "Just be fine out there." "Yes, Mom. I will be alright; I am not a child." I gave my mother a hug and said, "Take care." Even though Samara and she are my family, I care abou
Darlington's POV I took a bath, waited for Jenna to come, and asked for something edible to eat. My phone rang on the table in my room, waking me from a long afternoon nap. I got out of the hotel bed right away, and when I saw that it was already evening, I scowled because I thought Jenna would have arrived earlier. My mother was calling, so I picked up the phone. "Hello, Darlington. Where are you?" I yawned and stretched before answering my mother's question, saying, "I am somewhere special, Mom." Why are you phoning me?" My mother reassured me, "She is already here in our house, Darlington, and your father has been trying to call your mobile number since to know where you are, but it is not connecting," so I did not want to believe it was because of the new woman who was arriving at our mansion. "Where are you now? "Start coming home." "No, Mother." "Why?" I already informed you that I had no interest in seeing this woman. I do not give a damn about her origins or identity. "Fa
Darlington' POV Jenna pivoted to look at me. She shakes her head and says, "No, Darlington," though her lips tremble. "Not right now. At this point, I am unable to conceive. In addition to the best international model award, I would like to be named this year's top model. You also expect me to renounce my 50 million dollar contract and put it all aside in order to become your baby mama. No, right now I am unable to do that." My sigh was deep. I said, "Not a baby-mama for me, Jenna, but as my wife," getting out of bed and approaching Jenna, who stood with her arms encircling her chest. "I know Darlington." "Please give me some time to sort myself out first." Jenna said, "I am not ready to get pregnant just yet. "Um." I was certain that my father would not not reconsider. especially now that he is married his friend's daughter on my behalf. Jenna's persistent refusal to become pregnant for me was frustrating, and I was not prepared to give up my role as CEO of Briggs Group just yet
Darlington's POV What Jenna did with the money she typically got from her job did not concern me. She had been looking sweet for me for a long time. I also knew that her older brother, Bruce Colton, was a friend of mine, and that her parents were billionaires. Jenna was not lacking anything; she was stunned by my request, but she responded with a firm shake of her head, "No, darling. To reach the top of my rank, I put in a lot of work. I can not give up right now. I am currently unable to conceive. It will destroy both my career and my physique. You are aware of all the issues a woman faces following childbirth." "What?" I gasped, turning to face Jenna in disbelief. "Damage your physique? Is that all you care about: your appearance and your money? How about marrying the way you have always wanted and starting a family together?" I asked a question. After scowling and coming to meet me, Jenna said, "Darling, we will have children." It is not that I will not try. However, not r
Darlington Briggs: "Okay," Jenna agreed, and I called on the room service. Soon, our meals arrived, and I refrained from telling Jenna that my parents had already found a new wife for me, and this was especially true for my father. I couldn't tell Jenna about it. Not when she is suggesting that we use a surrogate mother and has no desire to become pregnant for me. I was frustrated by her constant refusal to get pregnant. But yes, I was a billionaire, and I could afford to get a surrogate mother, but I wouldn't say I liked the idea of it. I wanted to see my wife become pregnant for me and bear our child. I don't know if I am being selfish about this. But I honestly wanted to see my wife become pregnant. I knew that some women had lost their lives through the pregnancy journey, and it wasn't an easy task like that. I sighed and finally had dinner with Jenna. "Ain't you going home today?" Jenna asked me as she was through with her meal. We both had a plate of jollof rice and frie
Amara Nicholas; I arrived earlier at the Briggs family mansion. I had not been here before, and as Mr. Timothy drove my father's sleek black Mercedes-Benz car into the compound premises and parked, I couldn't help but admire the front view of the exquisite mansion. The mansion looked so lovely and homely, and the surroundings also seemed so calm. I finally got out of the car, and just then, I saw an older man step out of the mansion. He was wearing a white polo and black trousers, with slippers. He walked up, excited to meet me. Just as I finally got out of the car,. "My beautiful daughter-in-law, you are highly welcome to our humble home," the man said to me, with widely opened arms, as he finally approached me and hugged me warmly. I smiled shyly and managed to respond to him. Thank you, sir. Good evening" "Good evening, my dear. Come, let us go inside," the middle-aged man ushered me inside the mansion. I recognized him to be Mr. Joshua Briggs—my father's best friend and also
