A NEW HOME

Elizabeth stood in front of her house as her mom locked the door, it felt as though she was leaving behind her life she once knew, without saying a word she took a position in the front sit of the cab far from Maria.

The ride to the airport was quick as there were no traffic, Elizabeth and her mom got checked in and within the next 30 minutes she was bidding farewell to her state. Her mother sat next to her but Elizabeth paid no attention to a word or anything her mother was saying, she wanted to change her sit but didn't want it to bring any issues as she didn't want to sit close to a stranger. Finding a solution to her problems immediately as she plugged in her earphones hoping that the flight could be over really quickly.

"Elizabeth!" She could hear her mother call out with a gentle nudge.

"Baby we are here" she whispered.

Elizabeth opened her eyes and it wasn't a bad dream.

New Orleans, the most talked place in Lizzy's high school, she was bombarded by stories of her friends and classmates who would come on vacation, now it was her new home. Well at least for a while.

They both walked out of the airport with their luggage, Lizzy was expecting a taxi as they both got out of the airport but there was a limousine parked right outside and a gentleman holding name cards bearing their names.

Like who exactly was her mom dating? She asked herself as another man helped placed their bags.

As they car drove through the city, Maria tried initiating a conversation but Lizzy pulled out her phone from her bag and plugged in her earphones once again.

Maria was a bit frustrated as she turned to the window trying to understand how she could break the ice between them.

The car drove through the gates as they finally arrived and Lizzy couldn't believe what was before her eyes as the car made a stop. The scenery of the house seemed to be something strange, right out of a fairytale, flowers and beautiful tall trees decorated the entire compound making the flow of fresh air adequate.

The garage wasn't far off from where she could see, the cars parked in there were enough to buy her house a million times.

The house itself was huge, just like a Disney castle, Lizzy for one would have been impressed if it wasn't for her anger towards her mother, basically they left their life behind for money. The man from earlier helped get their bags down from the car.

"This would be our new home" Maria announced proudly expecting some sort of reaction from her daughter.

"I love home better" Lizzy replied. The smile on Maria's face soon turned into a huge frown.

"Lizzy for once could you be....." her words were cut short as the front door opened revealing a tall man in his mid 50's, his hair was white showing he was aging but in a good and expensive way. His eyes were chocolate brown and there was an irritating smile plastered on his face.

"My love" he announced before proceeding to hug Maria. Lizzy noticed a little cute girl come out immediately after the man, she had beautiful red hair freckle across her cheek and nose, her eyes were the same as the man but her smile melted Lizzy's heart. She had a set of dimples placed perfectly on her cheeks.

Two men also walked outside and headed straight for their bags, the man and Maria immediately broke off the hug and with a smile on their faces they both turned towards Lizzy who still couldn't get over the little girls cuteness.

"Elizabeth!" Her mother called out getting her attention.

"This is Louis Manga, my soon to be husband and your future father" she introduced proudly.

"And hun, this is Elizabeth" she introduced.

"Elizabeth, it's nice to meet you in person, I have heard so much about you" he said stretching out his hand which Lizzy didn't take.

"You've heard of me? That's interesting because I am just hearing your name for the first time, I just found out about you like 56 hours ago! But you know me. Doesn't that sound amazing" she spoke in an audible whisper.

"Lizzy!" Her mother voiced trying to get her in control.

"Don't tell at her, she has very right to be angry, I understand. All I want is for you to let me get rid of that bad impressions you have of me."

Lizzy was really tired and all of this was stressing her out the more, she just nodded before returning her eyes to the little girl again.

"Forgive me this is Coco, she's five" he finally introduced, the little girl flashed them a smile before proceeding to hug Maria, Maria with a smile on her face picked her up in her arms..

Elizabeth was about to take the little girl from her mother before she contaminated her but it was too late as they walked into the house.

The house was a bit more exquisite on the inside, the decor was a living piece of art, colour combination was everything.

While Elizabeth was looking around the house, she noticed a young man approaching them.

Elizabeth could tell from his looks that he was Louis's son but there was something different about him, his eyes. He had grey mixed with a touch of blue, his hair was neither blonde or red like his sister.

"And this is my son Shakar" he finally introduced

Elizabeth couldn't believe her eyes. She was aware that her mother was about to get remarried but she wasn't aware of her step father having kids, not just one but two.

Unlike like Coco, the look on Shakar's face was purely hate and for some reason she was beginning to love the atmosphere, it wasn't going to be comfortable for her mother and it made her more happier than before.
