BETTER OFF WITH DAD

Elizabeth was a bit restless as she sat in her room, there were a lot of questions on her mind that her mother needed to answer but she had no idea where she could be in this huge mansion.

As her mind ran through the possibilities of if she could remember exactly the way to Coco's room and if she did know she wasn't sure her mother was still there. There was a gentle knock on the door.

Elizabeth didn't say a word as she waited.

"Lizzy? Hun? Are you in there?" Maria's voice rang through, Elizabeth couldn't help but be thankful for the miracle that had just occurred.

She stood unto her feet and with one swift move she was already at the door, she opened it ushering her mother in. Maria was happy to she her daughter welcome her in such a matter.

"It's good to see you settling in pretty well" she voiced as she walked in while Lizzy closed the door behind.

"Yeah settling" she repeated, rolling her eyes.

"Do you love your new room? I made the decorations myself?" She asked with a smile as they both sat on the bed together.

Knowing her mom was the one the decorated her room made her feel irritated but then she did a nice job, Maria's smile was what irritated her the most, this wasn't a mother-daughter bonding moment.

Maria had a sit on the bed patting the side, indicating that lizzy should have a sit.

"Why Louis mom?" She asked ignoring her mother's gesture.

"What do you mean?" She asked not sure what her daughter meant by her questions.

"I want to know mom, why on earth are you together with Louis?" Lizzy needed to know from the obvious reasons money was the answer but she needed to hear it from the horse's mouth.

"Elizabeth we love each other" she answered still trying to make sense of the question she was asked.

"You love each other? Really? Is that the lie you tell yourself so you'll be able to sleep at night?" She asked once more.

"What the hell are you are about?" Maria was beginning to feel irritated by Lizzy's question.

"Why are we even her mom? You work, you could support the both of us and not need a man, so why the hell are you getting married to him, wait I think I can answer that. It's because of all this, fame? money? What exactly?" She inquired staring at her speechless mother.

"Elizabeth!" She called out as a sign of caution. Her daughter's words reminded her of Shakar's.

"What mom, I just don't understand why? Why on earth did you ignore all the taunts and insults from a man who she could have easily shut up. You kept quiet just to have a good face in front of them, that's disgusting mother, you aren't a good mother but you're trying to pretend to be one." She addressed.

"You're wrong, Shakar is also wrong. I could easily move us back home and take care of you but I won't not because of money but because I love Louis and I want to share the rest of my life with him."

Elizabeth could feel her skin curl.

"Love? If Louis love you then why didn't he stop his dump son from talking to the love of his life that way? I can answer he doesn't give a fuck about you or your self respect. But no he did nothing but watched the entire Fiasco."

Maria knew more than anyone Louis could have ripped Shakar in little bits but didn't want that to happen on the first they of their moving, Lizzy's words made her angry and she was trying her beat to suppress her anger with Patience. All this was new to her and she needed time to digest it all.

"If only you put this type energy in your marriage, Dad would still be with us and they would be no on......" Maria slapped Elizabeth across the face ferociously, stopping her from finishing her statement.

She had endured enough of her attitude, nothing, absolutely nothing gave Lizzy the right to speak to her in such a way. Her father was part of the reason she decided to move on, to forget him and here she was been reminded.

"Don't you dare!" She pointed a finger towards Lizzy with shaky anger.

"Never a word about that man ever, you have no idea what I passed through, the amount of assurance I had to give myself just to get better" she added.

Elizabeth's hand found their way to her cheeks, as a tear dropped down her face, this was the second time in a week she was slapped by Maria.

"Everything I do Lizzy is for you, all for you. And one day you're going to realise it all. I could have left you with your pathetic father so you would suffer but I didn't. I took you because I love you"

"You should have given me to him, I would have been happy but you didn't, you want to know why? It's because I was the only thing you could use to hurt him. I was the only person he only ever truly loved and you knew this that's the only fucking reason I'm with you." She replied still with her hands on her face which stinged a lot.

"Lizzy that's not true I love you" Maria said, regretting her actions immediately. She tried to approach her daughter but Lizzy took steps away from her.

"I would have been living happily with dad than being here with a selfish woman like you" she spoke.

"Lizzy?"

"Get out!" Lizzy's calm but anger voice echoed across the room.

"I'm so..."

"Get out!" She spoke more angrily.

Maria knew she wasn't welcomed anymore and turned to leave.

Elizabeth on the other hand fell on the bed and cried into her pillow, how much longer would she have to put up with this?.
